[edit] Flatbush
Hello, Orel. I just wanted to let you know why I reverted your edits to Yeshivah of Flatbush, since I see that you put significant work into it, and seeing it all removed can be very upsetting. The problem is that much of what you added, like the "SGO" information in particular, is not what we consider encyclopedic, or suitable for an encyclopedia. This is true mainly because the information is not notable for Wikipedia purposes. Please don't be discouraged by this, and don't let this stop you from editing the Flatbush article further, as well as other articles throughout Wikipedia. --DLandTALK 06:18, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Orel, thank you for explaining your case on my talk page. You are right about the inclusion of Baruch Goldstein in the article - he is very notable. The caption you gave him was a little misleading, so I changed it.
- As for the section on the SGO, I rewrote it to include information about the SGO in general, but I removed non-notable names of specific people. This is in accordance with a wide consensus on Wikipedia policy. I am currently working on the Maimonides School article to fix that up as well. A better example of a top-notch high school article is the article on Stuyvesant High School. Check that one out - it was even nominated to be a featured article once (a great honor for a Wikipedia article). Best, DLandTALK 20:41, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
