[edit] Collecting source materials

I did a NewsBank search for articles on this organization in the Oregonian, Capital Journal, and Register Guard. I was surprised to discover that it long predates the Measure 37 campaign, and was not originally dedicated solely to Property Rights issues. I'm collating the results of the search, but the Newsbank archive does not go back to the formation of the group, so I have a substantial gap. If anyone has access to materials on the early days of the group (sorry, but I have no idea when they were formed so can't specify a date -- even their own website is silent on their early history) I'd appreciate your forwarding it to me via the "email this user" feature on my talk page, or enter the information into the article directly yourself. I'll be putting in the more recent history soon. -- "J-M" (Jgilhousen) 08:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

I found a link in NewsBank that will probably help a great deal. It's a profile on OIA. But the web site is messed up right now, I'll have to go back. Interesting that they blocked same-day voter registration. To contact OIA, call 503-620-0258, or check its Web site at www.oia.org. * 1986: Voters approve OIA's Ballot Measure 13, which amends the Oregon constitution to cut off voter registration 20 days before an election rather than allowing registration until Election Day.* 1989: Portland lawyer Bill Moshofsky, a longtime critic of...
