Oreochromis tanganicae is a species of fish in the Cichlidae family. It is found in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia. Its natural habitats are rivers, swamps, freshwater lakes, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, and inland deltas.
