Oregon State Office of Degree Authorization
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Oregon State Office of Degree Authorization is a unit of the Oregon Student Assistance Commission that authorizes schools to offer academic degrees in the U.S. state of Oregon, validates individual claims of degrees, enforces the closure of substandard or fraudulent higher education programs in the state, and enforces policy for publicly funded postsecondary programs and locations.
The Office of Degree Authorization aims "to provide for the protection of the citizens of Oregon and their postsecondary schools by ensuring the quality of higher education and preserving the integrity of an academic degree as a public credential." The ODA maintains a website on which it provides updated information on suspected diploma mills and unaccredited schools both inside and outside of Oregon.
