[edit] Known recipients

  • George Edward Gauntlett (Japanese name Ganto Tadashi)

There is no reference cited for this man, and yet his name appears as a recipient of more than one honor -- 1st grade, 2nd grade, AND 3rd grade ....? I have prudently removed his name temporarily until these curious discrepancies can be resolved by someone more knowledgeable than me. Ooperhoofd 01:55, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Moving this page?

Every source I've encountered, including the Japanese Prime Minister's Decoration Bureau's English-language sub-page, identifies this award in terms of a singular noun -- Order of the Sacred Treasure, not Order of the Sacred Treasures ...? If it would be perceived as an improvement, I would be willing to do the work involved in correcting this trivial error.

Is there is general agreement/disagreement with moving or re-naming this page from Order of the Sacred Treasures to Order of the Sacred Treasure? Perhaps the current spelling re-direct is really all that's needed. --Ooperhoofd 18:28, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

The move seemed too easy, but in case there are any unanticipated problems, I'm posting this brief follow-up:
Move page
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Move succeeded
Jump to: navigation, search
The page "Order of the Sacred Treasures" (links) has been moved to "Order of the Sacred Treasure" (links, revert).
Please check whether this move has created any double redirects, and fix them as necessary. For this purpose, you can use the following text:
  1. REDIRECT Order of the Sacred Treasure
If there are any non-free images on this page, don't forget to update their fair use rationales to link to the new title. Order of the Sacred Treasures
The corresponding talk page was also moved.
Over the coming days, I'll be double-checking each of the internal links for list of recipients. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 21:24, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
