Orchid of the Year

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Orchid of the Year is a yearly honor given to an orchid species native to Germany since 1989 by the Arbeitskreis Heimische Orchideen (Native Orchid Research Group, AHO), a German orchid conservation federation. The choice of orchids follows the endangerment of the species or its habitat due to human pressure.
