Orchard Central is a shopping centre under construction that will become Singapore's tallest vertical mall when it opens in 4Q 2008.
Designed by DP Architects as Singapore's first vertical mall standing 11 storeys above ground and 2 levels of basement. Super escalators on street level will take pedestrians up to various clusters. The mall will be served by a total of 42 escalators and 12 glass elevators.
The mall boasts 160m frontage along Orchard Road (the shopping belt of Singapore), giving potential tenants visibility.
The total development cost of the project is estimated to be more than S$650 million.
The shopping mall's 8 feature clusters are:
- Exclusive Cluster (L2 to L4)
- Flagship Cluster (B1 to L3)
- Main Cluster (L1 to L4)
- Masstige Cluster (B1 to B2)
- High Life Cluster (L7 to L8)
- Youth Cluster (L5 to L6)
- Discovery Walk (L1)
- Food Haven (L11)
