Orbital strike
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Launching an orbital strike is defined as firing or launching any form of ordnance at a spot on a planet from a platform located in space. The firing platform can be a satellite, starship, space station, or any other body capable of maintaining an orbit. It is similar in many ways to naval bombardment or an air strike in that its usual intent is to soften up defenders for an impending ground attack or to destroy strategic assets. In games orbital strikes are often super weapons and considered very powerful.
