In Orbital elements, the violet line is identified with the semimajor axis. This places the Earth at the centre of the ellipse, whereas it should be at one focus. I see what you are saying. This image was not intended to show distances, only angles. For simplicity I made the orbit circular (though it appears as an ellipse from the side) and so the focus and the center coincide. Do you think it is worthwhile for me to change it? There are a couple images out there (ie Image:Orbital elements.svg and Image:Angular Parameters of Elliptical Orbit.png) that are better for showing distances, but neither of these shows the true anomaly. --Lasunncty (talk) 08:36, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
