Orange Coast
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Orange Coast is the string of cities and neighborhoods fronting the Pacific Coast in Orange County, California.[citation needed] The Orange Coast cities include Huntington Beach[citation needed] , Costa Mesa[citation needed] , Newport Coast[citation needed] , Newport Beach[citation needed] , Balboa Island[citation needed] , Balboa Peninsula[citation needed] , Corona del Mar[citation needed] , Irvine, Santa Ana[citation needed] , Laguna Beach[citation needed] , Laguna Niguel[citation needed] , Aliso Viejo[citation needed] , San Juan Capistrano[citation needed] , Monarch Beach[citation needed] , Crystal Cove[citation needed] , Capistrano Beach[citation needed] , Dana Point[citation needed] and San Clemente[citation needed] .
The term South Coast is often used synonymously for the coastal communities south of Long Beach[citation needed] , and especially for those areas south of the Santa Ana River[citation needed] (although there exist many other definitions and common uses of South Coast[citation needed] ). Many local businesses and institutions have adopted these names, such as Orange Coast College, the Orange Coast Daily Pilot, South Coast Repertory and South Coast Plaza (all based in Costa Mesa[citation needed] ). In household use, however, they may simply referred to as "the beach cities."[citation needed] This area has been described as the Gold Coast of Orange County.[citation needed]
