Oqaatsut

Oqaatsut (Rodebay, old spelling Oqaitsut) is a settlement in the Municipality of Ilulissat, Greenland. Population (January 2005) is 45. Approximate location is , on a peninsule facing the icebergs of Disko Bay.
The Greenlandic name Oqaatsut means 'the cormorants'. The settlement first operated as a trading post for 18th century Dutch whalers who named the place Rodebay, and the original blubber house, cooperage and storehouse are still in use.
