February 2007

  1. Please do not add unhelpful and non-constructive information to Wikipedia, as you did to Bubba the Love Sponge. Your edits could be considered vandalism, and they have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.Stern Fan sites belong under Howard Stern 22 February 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.177.164.244 (talk) 23:53, 22 February 2007
This was actually me trying to settle a dispute over which Fan sites are involved. It was not in fact vandalsim, but rather removal of disputed information in order to try to reach a settlement, or to at least avoid vandalism. - See talk page. - (Optigan13 04:14, 24 February 2007 (UTC))
  2. Please stop. If you continue to violate WP:NPOV delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Bubba the Love Sponge, you will be blocked for vandalism. Stop trying to justify whether or not a Howard Stern site belongs here. It does not.The Stern Fan Network is already posted under Howard Stern where it belongs. It is under the correct topic of Howard Stern and does not belong here. Please do not spam on this section or the page or you will be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.177.164.244 (talk) 14:07, 24 February 2007 (UTC).
Leaving Bubba page and Bubba talk page alone for now, since IP users appear to own the article, wasn't trying to disrupt that article. I did not edit or delete any talk page comments aside from replacing mine which were blanked and added response and unsigned mark from ip user. Was not in any way trying to promote either site, but trying to squash fan site edit warring on wikipedia and seek clarification on which should be included. Stern and Bubba related Fan Sites appear to hate each other, and cause confusion and disruption on wikipedia. I'll just keep reverting on other pages on my watchlist and let the poorly worded line remain. User who cited me above comes from IP which appears to have replaced fan site's url on it's wiki entry to an obviously incorrect link, and whose only contributions so far appears to have been reverting the disputed text and links in question, blanking my talk page text, citing me, and either by accident or purpose, vandalising the fan site's wiki. So it is difficult to consider, but I am trying to assume that these are purely good faith corrections that just look bad from where I'm sitting. However if any editor can explain to me what the both sites are that are referred to on the disputed lines in question, or who Mutt is supposed to be by only reading that article I'd love to hear it. (Optigan13 22:53, 24 February 2007 (UTC))

April 2007

  1. Warning - DO NOT ADD to articles by blanking or DELETING massive sections that have already been well established and agreed upon. I have reverted your edits to the PRANK CALL article because all you did was add links to PCU radio while delting an entire section on the history of prank calls coming to the internet. If you feel PCU is pat of that history, fine, add to the section and SITE your references, but I can see from your page here that you either do not understand how to use wikipedia properly or you are purposely vandalizing or removing chunks of work in order to promote your own sites. This will not be tolerated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ManofThoth (talkcontribs) 12:13, 20 April 2007
Single purpose user who doesn't know how to read diffs warned me for removal of content did he introduced(See his contributions). See my edit, and the edit after that. Also appears to like to make his own user warnings, and does not know several wikipedia policies. Optigan13 02:10, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Stern and McCarthy

Funny, seems you and I are both Howard Stern fans and Cormac McCarthy fans, who says Stern fans are dumb!? LilDice 14:17, 24 April 2007 (UTC):

Got your reply, you should pick up a Blood Meridian by him, amazing writing and lots of violence. I forget that just because you edit a page on WP doesn't make you a fan, after all I did alot of editing on the O&A page :/ LilDice 17:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

RFC and stern show staff page

The linking to the directory is fine. Also, I like your idea about the The Howard Stern Show Staff page. Most of the staff isn't notable as individuals but as a group they are notable. While this isn't an opportunity to turn wikipedia into Stern-o-pedia, it would help consolidate all the fractured stern pages. And no, not discouraged from last time. The Stern-related pages are in much better shape now and I now have the extra tools to handle the trouble-makers :) Ocatecir Talk 06:49, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Why delete the section on plaigarism on Roy D. Mercer

It's common knowledge in parts of the Southeast that Roy D. Mercer got his schtick from a tape made by a fellow named John Bean that spread around the southeast. I thought this was the point of Wikipedia to be able to dissmeinate ACCURATE information. Bobbystone 20:17, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

If it is common knowledge in the southeast then someone should have written something about it in a newspaper or magazine, some kind of source that is considered reliable. Yes Wikipedia does strive to be accurate, but part of that accuracy is providing sources, so that people can verify that what you say is in fact accurate. The five pillars of wikipedia explain a lot of this, including the point of wikipedia. - Optigan13 20:45, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Breast cancer treatment

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Breast cancer treatment, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://thebreastcancerinfo.com/breast_cancer_treatment.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 05:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the welcome.

And thank you for the links. I didn't realize that I should leave a comment after edits. I'll be sure to do that in the future. Jezebelly 08:57, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Just a heads up in that this article was already prodded in th last few fays and contested. It will likely require Afd. --Stormbay (talk) 13:50, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

OK, I'll keep my eye out for the AFD. My fault for not checking the history. I think I'm going to have to judging notability after midnight, It's like the gremlins or something, bad things always happen when I do. - Optigan13 (talk) 17:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

RE:Barnstar given with your signature

Ah yes, I did give an open barnstar to anyone who worked on the Evan Almighty article. I was impressed with the quality of Evan Almighty so I gave everyone who has worked on it a barnstar for their hard work. Although flicking through Onepiece226's edit history it looks like he has never worked on Evan Almighty, the cheeky sod really did just steal it. JayKeaton (talk) 09:14, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

{{talkheader}}

Please don't put {{talkheader}} onto every talk page you encounter. It is intended only for heated and/or controversial pages. Please click the link for further info and to verify this. Likewise it would be helpful if you didn't add other clutter to talk pages like skiptotoctalk unless absolutely needed. No reply needed, thanks. --kingboyk (talk) 23:00, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

You're actually a couple days late on that notice.[1] I spend too much time in talk space anyway. -Optigan13 (talk) 04:19, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Sid Vicious

Hi. It looks like you accidentally reverted to a vandalized version of the page. If I'm mistaken please correct me. I've reverted your edits.--Urban Rose 03:08, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I reverted everything by the same IP user in the past day. If you'll notice the editor added quotes calling Vicious the bass "player"diff. The other changes actually appear to be okay with removing unsourced and trivial references, but I quickly reverted everything the user did. So go ahead and take another look at the changes and see if you want to keep anything, obviously you are paying close attention to that article. -Optigan13 (talk) 03:20, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Talk:300 (film) archives

Pacific Western University

I don't understand why you are "repairing" the link redirection for Pacific Western University. The link redirects to California Miramar; it is not broken. Some of these people may have degrees from the Hawaii version of the school, and changing the link to California Miramar University suggests that they definitely attended the California school. Keeping the link to PWU indicates some ambiguity. I have reverted some of your changes already. --Orlady (talk) 00:11, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

I see what you are saying. But the confusing names being the case, I'm thinking that a disambiguation page, and a separate Pacific Western University (Hawaii) page would be needed, or at least a {{redirect}} header on California Miramar University. Unfortunately a lot of the people and links don't specify which institution. I'll finish the reversion where unclear. -Optigan13 (talk) 00:54, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

It's still a push for me, but I pulled the prod tag nonetheless. Still needs more sources. -Optigan13 (talk) 05:54, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

mitchell johnson edit

Hey dude how did you move the picture to the side ?im kinda new. would you think its over kill to add his side mugshot ? Sickero (talk) 07:29, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

I added a generic {{Infobox Person}} to the page (See diff). Although you should definitely move the image to a much more descriptive title, mj is way too broad. You can probably take a look at serial killers and muderers pages to see what they did with the image. A more generic [[Image:mj.jpg|thumb|right]] would have also forced the right align. -Optigan13 (talk) 07:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

LOVE your username!

Just was doing some NPP and I noticed your having tagged a nonsense article; I did a lot of work on the Optigan article under my old username of "Lucky 6.9" and I still have the very Optigan my family got as a Christmas present in 1973! It's at my parent's former weekend home. Been there ever since it was new, so it was in good shape until it was slightly damaged when the room it was in flooded during a heavy rain thanks to a problem with the roof. My brother now owns the place and he has no use for it since he doesn't play. I am retrieving it at my earliest possible opportunity. I was just up there on Christmas day and yes, it still works! Thanks for the smile! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:38, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I've actually never even played one, just have it held over from when I was younger and a blur fan, See 13 (Blur album), track 13. -Optigan13 (talk) 06:53, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of The Wack Pack

An editor has nominated The Wack Pack, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Wack Pack and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:00, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

CSD I8 (Commons images)

I don't know what you're using to tag images with "now commons", and to leave misleading speedy deletion notices on the uploaders' web pages, but whatever it is, please don't. Tag them manually, only adding the image name if it is different. If you leave a note for the uploader, do not use a standard speedy deletion message. Any questions, please ask. Thanks in advance, Angus McLellan (Talk) 18:32, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

I've actually stopped, I was using TWinkle, but it is misfiring. -Optigan13 (talk) 18:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll need to have a word with the developer. Apologies for being rather snippy. All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 18:36, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
No problem, that wasn't snippy at all. Not sure if it is because I have a custom TWinkle config, but this time I loaded it from gadgets. Oh well, it's over for now. -Optigan13 (talk) 18:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
