It has two separate competitions, the North Region and Central Region competitions. It quizzes middle school children on a variety of topics. The aforementioned team consisted of Will Kinsley, Eleanor Dickinson, Vidya Ravilochan, [Chip Bollendonk], Dylan Hall, and Michael Schandle.
[edit] Competition Structure
The competition has several oral rounds and a written round in the morning of the competition day. The written round has 50 questions. Certain teams are selected after the written round is graded to go on to oral rounds. This gives the possibility of a team losing to another team, yet making it into the semi-finals. The semi-finals are oral rounds, but they are elimination rounds. Eventually, two as yet undefeated teams are escorted onto a stage for a championship round. The winner of this two-team competition wins the entire contest for that particular grade level.
