Beddome's Snake-Eye Ophisops beddomei is a species of lizard found in the Western Ghats of India.

[edit] Description
Very similar to Ophisops jerdonii. Two or three fronto-nasals on a transverse line; one or two azygos prefrontals nearly always present; first and fourth supra-oculars usually broken up into several very small shields or granules. Lateral scales distinctly smaller than dorsals; 28 to 32 scales round the body. Femoral pores 8 to 13. Coloration as in Ophisops jerdonii, but the upper lateral light streak frequently absent.[1]

Type locality: Bramagherry Hills (Brahmagiri Hills), Wayanad Named after Richard Henry Beddome, 1830-1911, British army officer and botanist.
