look honestly im not a sockpuppet. I used to be user:virtual earth until some one hacked my account and i culd not log on. could you please reconsider this block/ thanks
there is someone else operating this ip and causing trouble/ its not me. Can you please unblock . thanks --OpenLoop 20:37, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
- Im sure many people show 'similar' editing patterns. It doesnt mean they are the same person. If you blocked all users whose editing had any similarity to anyone else's, you would be blocking everyone!--OpenLoop 11:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- No doubt there are some troublessome users on my IP (tiscali), but to paint me with the same brush is, I feel, a little unfair as none of my edits as VirtualEarth or Open loop have been disruptive to my knowledge. In the case of quatermass and the pit, somerone with similar IPs seems to have taken up my case, but its not me!--OpenLoop 11:28, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

- In the interim period, can anyone say why I cant logon as VirtualEarth (its not blocked). The password is not recognised. Is that some feture or fault in the Wiki software, or has that account been hacked?--OpenLoop 11:36, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

- Most likely you just lost your password. There's no reason for someone to "hack" your account, and if they did we would be seeing activity from it. If you have specified an email address when you registered the account, you can request your password be emailed to you. If not, write it off as a learning experience. —dgiestc 16:17, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

- No I didnt lose it. It was so eay to remember, but Im just wondering if Wiki software changes 'obvious' passwords?--OpenLoop 21:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Can I just ask anyone with any sort of authority if it is likely that this account will be unblocked, or should I create a new one?--OpenLoop 21:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to take the blocking admin's word that checkuser shows you share an IP with Light current. You could try emailing the blocking admin, but short of that working, no it's not very likely. —dgiestc 22:08, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

- Well I dont deny that i may share temporary IPs with that person, but Tiscali has lots of IPs it appears and they are randomly allocated when you log on, so its not really fair to block a genuine user because of one apparent trouble maker, is it? Anyway if this account is not unblocked, i suppose i will have to create a new one. However as my ISP is Tiscali and the addresses are randomly allocated, I suppose i could be confused with this light current person. Is there any way around this?--OpenLoop 22:18, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
