Perhaps some information should be included as to why the men perished and were not picked up by HMS Tantalus, the British Submarine that was supposed to rendevous at Merapas Island for extraction. It makes for interesting reading.

Walter Carey was the brother of Lt. S Warren Carey who led the aborted Op Scorpion and successful Townsville Raid. The plan was pretty much his some accounts. If anyone else thinks this is worth including? Fred.e 18:41, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
