Operation Emery

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Operation Emery[1] was a series of twelve nuclear tests conducted at the Nevada Test Site. These explosions occurred after the Mandrel series and before Grommet.

The Baneberry blast was notable for the 6.7 million curies (250 petabecquerels)[2] of radioactivity that escaped through cracks in the ground. As a result of the containment failure, a six month moratorium was placed on the US nuclear testing program. [3]
