Unternehmen Adlerangriff ("Operation Eagle Attack") was a series of Luftwaffe attacks against the Royal Air Force (RAF) as part of preparations for Operation Sealion (Unternehmen Seelöwe).
The Operation began on 13 August 1940 a day known as Adlertag ("Eagle Day") by German forces. Elimination of British air cover had been set as one of the prerequisites for Sealion - the amphibious assault of Britain. The engagements resulting from Eagle were later dubbed the Battle of Britain.
