Operation Dagger took place in the Southern Lake Thar-Thar region, in Al Anbar Provance.
It was conducted by the Regimental Combate Team-8, 2nd Marine Division.
The mission, which was to locate hidden weapons caches and ememy sanctuaries, was a great failure. The operation follows Operation Spear, a similar operation.
