Open System are electronic musicians Michael Martin & Matt Hillier. The two decided to combine forces in 2003.
Matt's main project is Ishq, with his partner Jacqui. They are based in Cornwall, UK, and have been writing music since about 1994 under various names and guises. They have released 3 solo albums to date and 3 collaboration albums on various labels including their own label Virtual.
Michael has been writing his own music as Indidginus since 2001, and has been playing didgeridoo (which he makes use of in live performances) since 1996. He moved to Cape Town, South Africa in 2004 where he has written soundtracks for several TV commercials, TV series & TV documentaries. He is currently writing the soundtrack to an independent film called Cognition Factor, featuring collaborations with Alex Paterson (The Orb), Colin Angus (The Shamen, Pablo Sandoz) & Merv Pepler (Eat Static).
