Open Source Beer Project
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Open Source Beer Project is a community effort spearheaded by Flying Dog Brewery to develop a beer using open source methodology. While Vores Øl (since renamed Free Beer) was the first open source beer and OpenCola preceded it as an open source beverage, the Open Source Beer Project aims to produce the first commercially available open source beer. However, at least one other group, Brewtopia, has claimed to have produced open source beer commercially, and Free Beer have been brewed by multiple breweries. [1][2][3]
[edit] Beer style
The Open Source Beer Project commenced as a Doppelbock, but as with any open source project its nature may evolve according to developer demand.[4] The beer will be an "extremely limited edition... exclusively in hand filled, corked and labeled 750ml bottles. Only 5000 bottles of the Open Source Wild Dogs will be available to the public."
