I (phh) contend that this image qualifies as fair use for the following reasons:

1. It is a single panel from an illustrated chapter that is itself a small portion of a much larger book.
2. It is an important artifact that illustrates, and helps establish the provenance of, the subject of the article.
3. It is being used for exclusively informational purposes.
4. Its use here is very unlikely to adversely affect the copyright owner's ability to exploit the work.
