Talk:Ontario municipal elections, 2006
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I note that some users have tried to insert links or ads about their favorite candidates (or themselves). I'm a wikipedia newbie, but I'm pretty sure this is something you're not supposed to do. NDP Johnny 01:12, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm fine with it myself. I've added all the links I possibly could for the Ottawa article. It discourages people from creating articles on Non notable candidates. -- Earl Andrew - talk 06:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Links to candidate’s websites provide additional information regarding this topic and should be included in a manner that does not detract from the listing. i.e. link to name only - earthartist 01:53, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information. I have difficulties in seeing that this, and related pages such as Guelph municipal election, 2006, are encyclopaedic articles. Should this kind of material be on Wikipedia in the first place? // habj 07:11, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, of course. Elections are notable. -- Earl Andrew - talk 07:12, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

- The question is how much detail is relevant. // habj 10:00, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
