[edit] Nationals/Knights

Hockeydb says that the London Knights were re-renamed the London Nationals in 1970-71, but they were not. I have a program from 1970-71 and can assure everyone that the team was never re-renamed; after becoming the Knights, they stayed under than name. BoojiBoy 12/01/05

[edit] Updating link

Anyone else think that we should consider linking "OHL" to the OHL? The other links, or at least the German punk band, are/is insignificant enough that I think it merits redirection. -Storminnorman789

There is already a disambiguation page for anyone searching for OHL. I think that is sufficient. Flibirigit 12:18, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Trophies

It's fairly trivial, but should there be a set way to show trophy winners? Specifically, should we list them from most recent to least, or vice-versa? -Storminnorman789

I believe ALL lists should be chronological from past to present. Even the name plates engraved on the trophies start with the earliest at the top. Flibirigit 12:16, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
I feel the opposite; that the most recent winners are most deserving of recognition. This is the way most lists are organized on league sites and such. However, I am not going to be bothered to do the time-consuming cut and paste required to standardize the lists; and if someone else wants to re-standardize them according to an oldest-first format I wouldn't object either. [edit] OHL History

Due to the age of the OHA and OHL, a new article has been to created to adequately document the events that make up the coloured history of this longstanding organization.

[edit] Member teams and standings redundancy

It strikes me that there is no need to list both the member teams as well as the current league standings, which also lists all of the member teams. Add in the infobar at the bottom of the page, and the same information is listed three times. I've been thinking of adding the final standings for on the WHL page as well, and I might add it in place of the list of member teams in that article. IMO, such articles are unnecessaraly long because of this redundant information. Would anyone object if the member teams category was removed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Resolute (talkcontribs)

The Member Teams section of each league article is essential to the history and make up the league. The standings are not an essential part of the article, and in general standings are not found on the majority of league articles. Flibirigit 02:38, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
The standings and playoffs should be moved to a separate page. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 03:11, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I was planning on moving this info to the 2006 OHL season page at the end of the playoffs. For the 2006-2007 season, the standings/stats should be kept on the page for the season. Flibirigit 13:38, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I was wondering if anyone has access to past OHL Priority Selections. That would be a great addition to the page. I've been searching for ages trying to find a kid I played with that I know was drafted in 2003, but I can't find the draft anywhere online. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.71.37.170 (talk • contribs)

[edit] 2006 Playoffs Bracket

Does anybody else think that that looks really cool? I do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Storminnorman789 (talkcontribs)

At the conclusion of the 2006 playoffs please include it on the article summarizing the 2006 OHL season. Flibirigit 02:41, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
The playoff bracket has been deleted due to copyright violation. Those who want a copy can download it at OHLGraphix.com. BoojiBoy, 23:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
There is one at 2006 Memorial Cup. It's not as fancy, but it's easier to update. --curling rock Earl Andrew - talk 02:48, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
I apologize for having the graphic removed, but the person who posted it was portraying it was their personal own work and I the owner and designer at ohlgraphix.com had no contact whatsoever on my work being displayed here... There is too many complications with it being posted on here... but everyone feel free to set it as your background by heading over to my site... OHLGraphix.com . [edit] Question

Being an American, I don't know much about this, but what do junior hockey players between 15-17 do for schooling? Do the provinces give them a waiver or must they sign some educational waiver? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.190.230.57 (talkcontribs)

Players in the OHL attend secondary schools nearby to the team the play for. Those who have graudated high school, attend college/university part time, either by commuting or correspondence. The junior teams provide a stipend and academic guidance. Flibirigit 18:08, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Map

I made a map of the teams: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ohl.JPG (was curious where all the towns were.) Not sure if it's up to snuff or if someone wants to make it look prettier, and I wasn't sure where it should go in the article, and didn't want to just move things around. So I'll let someone here handle that. The WHL article seems a bit more polished, everything's put into tables, and this page is a little cluttered with game photos. Just my opinion though, haven't read through the discussions, take it all as you will.Doregasm 06:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Logos

The Current member teams logos ARE used directly from the Wikipedia page of each team and do not violated fair use laws. Otherwise, every team logo MUST be removed from each team page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.210.21.103 (talkcontribs)

I'm sorry, you have it backwards. Logos are coprighted and are only able to be used under fair use for the teams themselves, not the league articles. Please read WP:FU. Flibirigit 15:10, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:OntarioHockeyLeague.png

Image:OntarioHockeyLeague.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
