Ontario Young Liberals

The Ontario Young Liberals is the Ontario youth wing of the Young Liberals of Canada. The organization binds together regional Liberal youth organizations in Ontario.

[edit] Structure
The structure of the Executive consists of a President, Executive Vice-President, Vice-President of Federal Affairs, Vice-President of Provincial Affairs, Treasurer, Riding Director, Student Director, Policy Director, Communications Director, Recruitment Director and 6 Regional Coordinators.
The Organization has 20 accredited campus clubs while the Young Liberals of Canada have only accredited 15 of them, but has 53 Riding Clubs.
Unlike other provincial youth wings of the Young Liberals of Canada, the Ontario Young Liberals split their time between the federal Liberal Party and the Provincial Liberal Party.

The 2005-06 recruitment campaign consisted of a set policy platform of Aid in Darfur, Vote 16 Initiative, Meet our Kyoto Targets, Electoral Reform, Expand Public Transit, Decriminalize Marijuana, Increased Post-Secondary Funding. The campus recruitment campaign was titled "Drive the Agenda".

Every year the Ontario Young Liberals hold a number of events across the province for the entire membership. These include: Model Parliament at Queen's Park; OYL on ICE, a one day policy conference; Summer Fling, a weekend policy convention; and the Annual General Meeting, where a new executive is elected. Aside from these flagship events, local campus and riding clubs hold a variety of bbq's, fundraisers and social activities ranging from pub nights to charity walks.
The Ontario Young Liberals have proven themselves to be instrumental in both recruitment for the Liberal Party and for the development of policy within the party.
