I modified the "First Owl" link since the Purdue Owl is not the first OWL. There are other candidates for that honor, and I doubt that it will ever be settled. For example, the Salt Lake Community College Online Writing Center web page was established in July of 2004. Rather than "firsts" it would seem to be more productive to explore the history of OWLs in various media. --Clint Gardner
