The song was covered by Mandy Moore in that film and it is in the track listing of Mandy Moore's compilation The Best of Mandy Moore.

There was supposed to have been a single for Mandy Moore released after "Cry". However, since "Cry" was not a hit, "Only Hope" was canceled. The song "Only Hope" was also not on Moore's 2001 release. A video was shot, although it was largely a duplicate of the movie. The music video was released on music channels in Asia and became a huge hit there. Although it was never a single or a hit, it is Moore's most popular song on iTunes.

[edit] In the film A Walk to Remember

Jamie sings to Landon during the school play where their union is created. The song ends when Landon kisses Jamie.
