Penny Brown
There are quite a few reasons I deleted the Penny Brown article. Just for reference, I deleted it under criterion number 1 of the criterions for speedy deletion. Anyway, the article was a one-liner which provided no context, was self-referecing (Penny Brown is a child's name whis is part of the Penny Brown hoax), offered no external links and asserted no notability. To top it off, it was not wikified. I try to be as moderated as possible when it comes to deleting articles, but you have to draw a line somewhere. If you want to re-create the article providing actual context to it, you are welcome to do so, but at the state it was, it cannot be considered a stub. See Wikipedia:Stub for reference. Buff (colour)
Because of improper americanisation - the page was started at Buff (colour), with UK spelling, and it was moved without authorisation to american spelling, and that is not correct wiki etiquette - MPF 22:25, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
- Depends on the situation. In an American topic, or place-neutral topic, yes. In a British-context or International English-context page, no. It is all in the wiki style guide - MPF 22:43, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
Re: Admins

Adminship
You had asked Linuxbeak about how many edits should a user have to apply for adminship. Well, the thing is, you can submit yourself for adminship any time, but most users expect an admin to have at least 2000 edits and at least 3 months of experience(see WP:RFA) Sorry 'bout bursting your bubble!--May the Force be with you! The Image

New Busch Stadium
Do you think we should rename this page "Busch Stadium III"? Maybe there should be a "Busch Stadium" ambiguois page that would have links to all 3 Busch Stadiums. The current Busch Stadium page should then be reitiled "Busch Stadium II" and "Busch Stadium I" should redirect to "Sportsman's Park". Q-Tip
When you move a page and do a disambiguation like that, it's always best to go back and make sure all the pages that point to the old link now point to the new one. I'm still not quite sure the page needed to be moved (the notice at the top of the page seemed sufficient), but I will go back and change the approrpiate Q-Tip links to Q-Tip (rapper). I edit quite a lot of generic stuff really; when I'm on NP patrol, I often spot articles that I take under my wing for a while, even though I may have zero interest in the subject. CopyVio
Sorry, I've just had to remove your CopyVio notice on Rob Johnson and revert the work to the original stub I'd created before 152.163.100.199 added the massive copyright violation. In the future, it'd just be a nice touch if you'd check page history before slapping on a CopyVio, since the vast majority of CopyVios like that would otherwise be simply deleted after a week. If the page history suggests there was something there before the user posted a CopyVio, then simply revert the page (and warn the user, if particularly civil). Much thanks! Unless you'd like to cover all aspects of basketball, not only NBA... but then you could propose that on the NBA Project site. History of Mississippi
I had no intention of hurting your feelings when I replaced "your" article with a redirect. Since the article had not been touched in a few days, and you did not respond to my comments on the talk page, I thought it was safe to assume it was not being actively worked on. The information was and still is a small subset of that already available at Mississippi. If you intend to create a separate page for the history of Mississippi, please include at least as much information as is already available in the main article. Edit summaries
I would recommend against running for admin at this moment in time. Reasons as follows:
- Your edit summary usage over the last 200 edits is 70.5%. Move it up over 80% at least. Try to make yourself do an edit summary for every edit, every time.
- Your average # of edits is 7.3 over the last 90 days. But, people are going to look at your joining Wikipedia with your first edit on March 15, 2004 and say "~1000 edits in a year and a half? Not enough." Increase your activity level.
- Your last RfA was only a month ago. I'd go at least another month; get the material that the negative comments on that old RfA are referring to further in the past.
- Your user page is, well, basic. That's no requirement for adminship, but some people like to see a nice user page for a nominee.
Be patient. Keep contributing. Keep it up, and you'll be an admin by Christmas. --Durin 02:56, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

- OK, here's the short and sweet version. When you are incivil to another user, you are violating the civility policy - see Wikipedia:Civility. So that's one blockable offence. Bitching about administrator warnings or notices on talk pages is continuously irritating. You've been annoying and borderline trollish on Wikipedia and in the IRC channel. Nicholas is only attempting to help and you've behaved thoroughly despicably towards him.

What you did in nominating me was a positive gesture, regardless of my qualifications. 1000 edits
I wasn't speaking in terms of policy, I was trying to be realistic. Almost no one ever becomes an admin with only under 1000 edits. I think he had 700 or so edits and very little rfa or vfd activity- it was a nice way of advising him to withdraw because he had no chance. freestylefrappe 18:27, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- I was not aware that you were Wikifan. Is that the RFA you mentioned? It's going back far enough that I think I'm confusing which RFA we're referring to. I've given up trying to convince users not to apply until 1,000 edits. Edit count has gone down greatly in terms of importance - clearly since Shauri and Wiglaf voted against me for my policy of at least 1,000. Also, there use to be a disclaimer on the Requests page that said "do not bother applying here until you have at least 1,000"- which was there for a while (though - to my knowledge - it wasnt official policy). freestylefrappe 14:35, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Dear WikiFanatic: I noticed that you re-added your name to the Cabalists list on Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal; firstly, I wish to welcome you back, and I am most glad that you have decided to join us again. I do, however, think it is best to warn you that it is likely in the future that others will criticise you in a similar manner that Kim Bruning did, and thought I should caution you that, whilst it is great that you still wish to be a mediator, you must be prepared to make sure that you don't take such comments to heart in the future. The reason for this is that mediators tend to be called names, put down, etc. by many people in POV disputes, for example, and I feel that otherwise I would be committing a huge failure on my part not to warn you of this. That said, we do have a lot of work at the moment that needs sorting out; if you are sure that you will be able to keep a cool head at all times, please do go ahead and jump in on any case you think needs some work! Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. Sources for Revert of Louisiana
Hi just wondering as to your sources for the revert on the Louisiana article. There are two detailed discussions as to both the largest city and the status of civil law in the state of Louisiana. I am guessing that you reverted to before my last edit and did not mean to change the civil law text. I apologize if you feel I reverted your previous change of largest city, but I believed that this was debated already on the discussion page. First, congratulations on becoming an administrator today. I see that you have closed this article as a delete. I think many (if not most) administrators would have called this a "no consensus". Hi, I'm totally new to Wikipedia, so I'm probably violating all kinds of etiquette at this very moment, for which I apologize, but I just wanted to ask about your comment on my edits on the Cabrini-Green page.

I just wanted to clarify--were you referring to the actual content (i.e., adding a section on tenant activism, which maybe was not totally NPOV), or were you referring to my, uh, "editorial" note--I actually wrote in the page "(need more here!)".....?
I'm thinking it was the latter, since you removed that, and Karmafist added a template thingy (?).
I had looked for the correct format for a section that needed more data (because I knew that tenant activism had started decades earlier, but only had details post-1996) but not found the correct format. So, just to verify, in the future, I should put what Karmafist did? ("expand section," in double squiggly brackets)

Baseball on Wikicities
Hello WikiFanatic, Googie Man here and I want to ask you something as a fellow baseball fan on Wikipedian. Jimbo and Angela have made a new webstie called Wikicities. This link in particular will take you to the baseball Wikicity. As you'll see it's similar to Wikipedia, but my hope is this will allow baseball fans to do more and different things, like reporting on games, in depth statistics, create mulitple pages for pictures, and whatever else baseball fans care to create. You've done great work on Wikipedia and I was hoping you could help get this baseball Wikicity off the ground. Newspapers used instead of blogs
I would like your feedback on the use of newspapers as a source instead of blogs. In the case of the Robert Clark Young article, I have found newspaper sources that cover much of the same material as the blogs that have been used in the article. When I replaced the blog sources with the newspaper sources, Alabamaboy reverted every single one of my edits. Also, very strangely, he accused me on the discussion page of being Mr. Young himself!
This is the Wikipedia Guideline I am trying to follow with my edits:
"Publications with teams of fact-checkers, reporters, editors, lawyers, and managers — like the New York Times or The Times of London — are likely to be reliable, and are regarded as reputable sources for the purposes of Wikipedia. At the other end of the reliability scale lie personal websites, weblogs (blogs), bulletin boards, and Usenet posts, which are not acceptable as sources."
Thus, I have replaced the blog sources with newspaper sources. Again, let me stress that this has not led to much change in the text of the article itself--what I'm trying to do here is change the nature of the sources so that they themselves comply with Wikipedia Guidelines.
Could Alabamaboy and I get some feedback on this? I wonder if you could go over to the Robert Clark Young history and compare both versions of the sourcing--the one using newspapers, and the one using blogs. Thank you. Berenise 01:46, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

- First off, I apologize for Berenise's comment being spammed upon so many user's talk pages. However, since Berenise already placed it here I wanted you to be aware that there are three reasons the article was reverted: 1) Berenise made the changes despite a lack of consensus and my objections on the Talk:Robert Clark Young. In short, the online references are refered to in the newspaper and print articles, making the online sources primary sources. The article also has many print sources which complement and add to the online sources. 2) The edits made the article less NPOV b/c they removed opposing viewpoints. While these references may be online, they are from credible named sources who are considered experts in their respected areas. 3) There is a strong possibility that Berenise is Robert Clark Young. Young previously edited the article about himself and most of Berenise's edits since coming to Wikipedia have been to the Young article. I'm trying to clear this up with Berenise; once she proves she is not Young I'd love to get opinions from other editors about this situation. Entry on Steve Jobs
I would like to see some references for the claim that Steve Jobs was born in Green Bay, WI insted of San Francisco, CA. Afaik, every source I can find on the internet (which includes books) state that he was born in San Francisco not Green Bay. I also noticed you protected the page. I don't want to turn this into a 'revert war', and you are an administrator, but I would still like to see some references. Also see my comment in the :talk page on Steve Jobs.
I would also like an explanation on the editing of the quote mentioned in the article from "Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling sugared water, or do you want a chance to change the world?" to "Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling sugared water, or do you want a chance to puncture a hole in the universe?". I believe he wasn't born in Green Bay, but the article here on Wikipedia says he was. Which means either the BBC, the book iCon ^pdf, this book, several others, and off course CNN are wrong OR he wasn't born in Green Bay like WikiFanatic states. I could probably find out somehow, maybe by checking out the necessary information from the California Office of Vital Records (like the mentioned article did). - Sorry means that you would not do it again in future. You know that the last edit I made was to the talk page. You know that I hadn't edited the the page it self for 10 minutes when you hit me with the block which considering the previous intensity of the revert war suggests I was leaveing it alone at that point (in fact I was halfway through writeing a further talk page comment when you blocked me but no matter). You know your block was outside policy. Your support appears to have come from an unloged IRC channel. The normal approach would have been to bring it to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents and try and get support or otherwise for your actions. You did not. In summery you carried out an out of process block on an admin (probably the most effective way to trigger a wheel war know although you did get lucky there) refused attempts to comunicate and failed to try and disscuss your actions with the wider community. An Esperanzial note
As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.
In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Regarding dates
Hey, I noticed your comment on the Bush article regarding the dates. If you click My preferences and choose Date/Time you'll see you have a chose on how to see the dates. In order for the mediawiki software to change the dates to your preference, they must be in ISO 8601 Format. Thus that's how the dates should all be but people get lazy and just write it out. If you write a date in ISO format and link it the software does the linking automatically as it should and the bots can better recognize it. Hey WikiFanatic, I’m here on behalf of Aranda56, he's asked me to review his 3RR case on IRC. I agree with the block, I saw 4 reverts that were not simple vandalism or self reverts. I'm requesting that you the blocking admin unblock him, because I disagree with going behind an other admin's back and making a change like that. I've told him that if you will not unblock him, then there is nothing I can do about it. I also told him that if it appears you've gone off-line, (i.e. you don't respond in 10-15 min) I'll unblock him assuming good faith that he will not violate the 3RR policy again. By all means if you come back in say 20 min and I've already unblocked and you wish to reblock, please just let me know, and then go right on ahead with reblocking. I've discussed the 3RR situation with Aranda56; given that blocks are intended to be preventive, rather than punitive (i.e., the reason for blocking for 3RR is to prevent the user from engaging in further reverts, not to punish them for making more than three reverts) I am going to unblock on Aranda's promise not to edit the page at all for the next 24 hours. I've made it clear that if I see any edits to the page before this time tomorrow, I will reinstate a full 24 hour block. I believe this is a fair deal, as it allows good work to continue, but prevents further reverting. I don't believe it is bending the rules; it is achiving what the rules are designed to achive while allowing good contributing to continue. (Also, Aranda56 is on an AOL IP, so there is a great deal of collateral damage from any block on that account.)

New Sports Wiki
Hey WikiFanatic, me and a couple of my buddies hacked the Mediawiki engine and added a bunch of things to make a cool new sports wiki. Here's what we added:

- First, we allow users to be able to submit news and opinion articles. Yes, that means there are some pages without a neutral-point-of-view. News pages and Opinion pages have little explanatory bars added atop their pages, explaining that the former may change rapidly (a la wikinews) and that the other should only have substantive edits made by the original author.

- Second, we figured that people would want to discuss these articles. So we added blog-like commenting to those pages.

- Then, we decided that having all these news and opinion articles is going to lead to a good deal of chaos -- how do we decide if Person A's opinion article about the Mets should be on the Mets page? Why not Person B's? So, we added a voting mechanism. Highest scores, based on votes and comments (and an aging factor) get published.
"Published" simply means that those stories automatically get bumped to the front page and the relevant team and player pages. For example, a News article noting that Benji Molina signed with the Blue Jays would, given enough votes, appear on the front page, the MLB page, the Mets page, and Molina's page.
The same thing is true for opinions. Highest scores are automatically published. But we added another thing for opinions -- "Opinion Clubhouses." They're basically blogs, in that the Clubhouses display links to the articles the author claims credit over.
Oh, yeah, and we have RSS feeds for all the News and Opinion stuff. (I still have to write the documentation for that, and another guy on our team is ironing out a bug or two.)
And of course, this is built on top of the encyclopedic aspect that, as a Wikipedian, you're already familiar with.
The site is blacklisted website removed. We're not "officially" launching until March 6th, but you can feel free to poke around and add content. Please contact me if you have any suggestions or questions.

- They were in a primarily French-language market. And their marketing was primarily in French. Their only hope for survival was to attract as many French fans as possible. Also given that the law forbade the use of English signs, etc., for most of their existence, are you surprised that their logo used an accent? However when they advertised in other languages, such as English, they used Montreal not Montréal, as evidenced by their former website, which I referenced. Also, it should be noted, that the article on Montreal itself uses Montreal rather than Montréal. Finally, when you heard the name spoken, by English-speaking people, do they call them the "Montreal Expos" or "Montréal Expos" (i.e. how do they pronounce Montreal, with or without the accent? - They were in a primarily French-language market. And their marketing was primarily in French. Their only hope for survival was to attract as many French fans as possible. Also given that the law forbade the use of English signs, etc., for most of their existence, are you surprised that their logo used an accent? However when they advertised in other languages, such as English, they used Montreal not Montréal, as evidenced by their former website, which I referenced. Also, it should be noted, that the article on Montreal itself uses Montreal rather than Montréal. Finally, when you heard the name spoken, by English-speaking people, do they call them the "Montreal Expos" or "Montréal Expos" (i.e. how do they pronounce Montreal, with or without the accent? All relax, it was quite quickly moved back. WikiFanatic, now that you've discovered Wikipedia:Requested moves, I suggest you use it for any article move that's likely to be controversial. For example, reversing an earlier move (Montreal Expos) or moving an article that has a high profile and lots of editors (London) is always likely to be controversial. And as well as nominating articles, of course we can always use another admin's help there to clear them up. This will also (very quickly I'm afraid) give you a better idea of what is controversial. Another Esperanzial note...
Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".
The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Blanking of your page
That edit was not deliberate. The servers were having troubles at the time, and I suspect a software malfunction was responsible. I did not see that version after any of my edits, if I had I would have immediately reverted the damage. But, I did get a couple of MediaWiki errors at the time, including lost session data.

According to the Arbitration Committee, the restrictions on what user pages may contain "should not be construed to bar reasonable criticism of the project." That page clearly qualifies as such. Also, the neutral point of view policy applies to encyclopedia articles, not to other areas like user or talk pages. As a result, there was no basis in policy for requesting deletion, and it really doesn't matter if two people voted to delete anyway. Look at List of metropolitan areas by population, the only two in the top 40 following the format you are advocating for London are: Los Angeles, California and Chicago, Illinois. Disambiguation
Because most of them were created by a bot which imported census data and used the state suffix to avoid clashes. There has been little effort to correct this because so many American cities share names with other places, and because in every day use Americans tend to use names like "New York, New York", even when dropping the state would not cause confusion. It would make sense to move Cincinnati, Ohio to Cincinnati, but you'll notice that even so, in the case of major cities we do not put the disambiguation as the primary page as you did with London, but redirect the primary page to the primary use. While you can argue that Vince Young's score as "6 or 16" is correct, I wouldn't say it's obvious. Although it's widely accepted that he did receive the 6 on his first try, it's also widely accepted, or at least the semi-official word is, that the score was an error. So for the purposes of the article, it is incorrect. The controversy might be worth mentioning, but a "6 or 16" without explanation is misleading, I think. We can talk about this in the discussion, but it certainly wasn't "obvious" that the changes were correct. In any case, I think your correction is fine. Ytny 13:41, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

The comment by Roblefko (talk · contribs) on your talk page was reverted/removed because that particular user has been engaging in an extensive linkspamming campaign to promote his web site. His only contributions to Wikipedia have been to create (nearly two hundred) links on user talk pages pointing back to his site. In addition, he has been operating a Wikipedia:sockpuppet account, Awrigh01 (talk · contribs), which he used to spam nearly two hundred additional pages.

- Apparently nobody here is very good at math. The votes were overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the article and the evidence presented was more than sufficient. - The deletion of this article is pathetic. As I understand it, Wikipedia does not advocate completely disregarding the opinions of newcomers, in fact it suggests the exact opposite. The Keep votes on this article were not mere trolling but were supported by substantial evidence from various sources. The proposed deletion was based on the nominators disdain for a particular message board where the term is used heavily (although it is by no means the exclusive place where the term is in use). This deletion only serves to help this person carry out his vendetta, rather than to make Wikipedia a more useful resource.

I was preparing to list the deletion of this article at DRV, but I thought I ought first to write you, in order that I might ask you to undelete or might, in any case, appraise you of my intention. DRV is likely an inappropriate disposition, inasmuch as, at least cursorily, your decision to close as "delete" would seem to be appropriately discretionary, if open to sincere debate. Notably, the discussion focused on whether the biographical was notable irrespective of his involvement in 101 California Street shootings or was notable only in view of his involvement with that event; the latter proposition garnered support, and a new article concerning the shootings was created. Information from the Berman article was, though, merged (via cut-and-paste) into the shootings article; the deletion of the Berman article, then, resulted in the loss of contribution history, in general contravention of the GFDL (with which I'm not particularly concerned as a contributor but with which we all must be generally concerned, lest WP should open itself to criticism). In the meanwhile, not having realized that the text was merged, I recreated Jack Berman as a redirect to the shootings article. Macadamian nut oil delete request
Could I ask why you denied the db-author request for Macadamian nut oil? I'm in the process of replacing links of the form Macadamia nut oil with links like Macadamia nut oil, so that the reader can tell that, while there is no article specifically on the oil, there is a more general article that might be helpful. Sea urchin and urine
Actually, I was told when studying sea urchins in Curacao that urinating on the site of a puncture wound is a folk remedy for sea urchin spine injuries. I didn't insert the remark into the article. I never saw it done, never tried it myself, and don't know of a good published source for this, but I have every reason to believe it was a good-faith addition to the article. I think I'm going to put it back with a "citation needed" tag. Keep the article on your watchlist, as I will. The item should be removed eventually if nobody finds a published source for it. - Changed my mind. This is much too close to offering medical advice and we should just stay away from it. A Google Books search does show a published source: a number of travel books by Harry S. Pariser, e.g. [11], say "take a blunt object to mash up the spine inside the skin so that it will be absorbed naturally. Then dip the wound in urine; the ammonia helps to trigger the process of disintegration." So far so good. But, given that an emergency medicine text[12] says "External percussion to achieve spine fragmentation is contraindicated" and "Spines within a joint or adjacent to a neurovascular structure should be referred to a surgeon to extract all fragments as soon as possible, and surgical exploration for embedded particles should be delayed until a diagnosis can be made by soft tissue radiography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)," it seems that self-treatment could be unwise advice. A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Basketball
Hello SushiGeek. I have come across your name as it is association with the WikiProject Basketball. I'm wondering, in Wiki there is a page about Hockey Pucks (Puck) and about Baseballs (Baseball object) but their does not seem to be a corresponding article on the history of the actual ball used in basketball. I thought of this after hearing about the NBA coming out with a new ball today and I thought I would learn about the old ones on WIKI and I couldn't find it. Please refrain from adding that sentence about Comfort's lack of knowledge of the banana. It is full of POV (in wording and intent). Also, you did not add a citation proving that bananas are indeed a work of humans. When you do add citation proving this, I will stop removing it. But if you do find citation and add the sentence, try to word it in a neutral matter. Also, I looked at the banana article and found nothing stating that the banana is indeed created by humans. Cultivated does not equal created. To be sure I even looked up cultivated in the dictionary. The banana was simply modified for mass production, not created. Editing the Baseball Network Page
I don't want the way the page is formatted to be radically altered. For example, I want the quotes to be in italic so that they're easier to seperate from the rest of the paragraphs. To me it doesn't make things look neater, it just makes it look more rough around the edges. I honestly feel that I know more about The Baseball Network (based on the references, amount of research, and resources) more than anybody on Wikipedia.TMC1982 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Template:Title
This has got out of hand now, with different revisions in different places. My suggestion as to what to do now:
Either
- Revert the userfication for the TfD to run its course,
or
- Close the TfD as userfy
- History-merge User:SushiGeek/Title into User:ais523/Sandbox/Title (deleting my version, moving onto my version, and undeleting my version onto the template)
- Move the composite template (left as my version with both histories) back to User:SushiGeek/Title
- Delete the redirect from my userspace (as I don't need the sandbox once the merge is finished)
- Edit the documentation to remove the reference to the location of the history
- Update the relevant userpages from {{title|(new title)}} to {{User:SushiGeek/Title|(new title)|void}} (the last parameter supresses the wrongtitle message).

- You seem to have got The Wrong Version. Do you mind if I change the coding to incorporate my non-Monobook compatibility changes? (e.g. compare [13] to [14]). Request your attention to the GoldToeMarionette case
GoldToeMarionette (talk · contribs) had a WP:RFCU inappropriately completed on their account by Jayjg (talk · contribs) and Hall Monitor (talk · contribs) blocked the account after it was identified as a multiple account despite their being no violation of Wikipedia policy by GoldToeMarionette. These users did not respond to requests to undo the action.
Other steps in dispute resolution have been tried
- Comments on RFCU itself [15]
- Hall Monitor was emailed with no reply
- GoldToeMarionette posted on the account's User and Talk Pages seeking assistance until the talk page was protected. User:GoldToeMarionette User_talk:GoldToeMarionette
GoldToeMarionette notified article contributors that illustrative examples were subject to an AfD. The account strictly followed the WP:SPAM#Internal_spamming guideline. The AfD was without controversy. GoldToeMarionette did not participate in the vote. HereToCleanup removed the posts following the AfD in accord with the widely accepted Wikipedia Guideline Wikipedia:Spam#Internal_spamming that states "Clean up your mess. For example, after engaging in cross-posting to promote some election, be sure to remove those cross-posts after the election is complete." [21]
Since GoldToeMarionette was strictly following Wikipedia Policy, there should not have been a Check User completed by Jayjg. Hall Monitor only blocked the account because it was labeled as a sockpuppet by Jayjg's completed Check User. Absent policy violation it should not have been processed in RFCU or been blocked. I am asking for your help to confirm that policy was not violated, administrative action should not have been taken, and request that the administrative action be reversed by unblocking GoldToeMarionette and unprotecting the talk page. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). A few notes
When closing RfAs early:
- Please use the correct templates. Users look for the background colors and are confused when they don't see them.
- Change "Ending [date]" to "Ended ~~~~~" so the time you closed it shows.
- Don't close ones you've voted in, even if they're obvious failures; determining consensus and voting are not compatible.

Consensus on userboxes has not been achieved, and taking actions such as these seems premature, considering that process is important. - It's been clear for a while that we are both sincerely on opposite sides of this issue. To me, Jimbo's expression of opinion on the matter is just that, an expression of opinion. I respect him & his opinion, just as I respect you & yours. However, unless & until he speaks ex officio, his opinion is just that. In my view, the userification of userboxes per WP:GUS has not become policy, as consensus on it has not been reached. Because of that, I see the deletion of Wikipedia:Userboxes/Beliefs and the userboxes listed thereon as (at the least) a reaching beyond what consensus supports, or, at worst, an attempt to create a fait accompli & effectively short-circuit consensus. That's tempered by my strong feeling that this is one of the least productive situations I've witnessed here, with each side contributing to my view. I know what Wikipedia is not, and I understand the logic behind the German solution, I have my own logical analysis that I'm working from.
- I would ask either Cyde or 1ne to undelete & restore Beliefs and place it at MfD, if the belief is that consensus supports its deletion. Clearly, from the logs, consensus among admins concerning this deletion can be questioned. Process is important. --Ssbohio 05:35, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Why are you saying things have been done outside of process? I think WP:TGS is the process now. - Cyde, the deletion was made under CSD:G6. To the best of my knowledge, the page was never tagged for CSD, and it is difficult for me to comprehend such a deletion as being noncontroversial housekeeping. To my understanding, that's at least two ways in which the deletion was out of process. Add to that the evidence of controversy, in that the page's deletion had already failed to gain consensus at MfD, and that previous attempts had been undeleted by other admins, and a claim that this fits under G6 doesn't seem reasonable. I'm not saying the page isn't deletable, but that it isn't speedyable, as the deletion is prima facie controversial. --Ssbohio 17:47, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- You may need to read up on the deletion process if you think something has to be tagged first before it can be deleted ... and I say it's non-controversial because there's nothing controversial about deleting an empty page, you can't try to manufacture a controversy over something like that. It was proposed once, with no consensus to delete. Then it was deleted twice, and undeleted twice. Its contents were removed once & reverted back. Then you & 1ne eviscerated its contents & then you assert that it's a noncontroversial deletion because it's an empty page. That's like killing your parents and asking mercy from the Court because you're an orphan. It strains credulity that any deletion of a userbox page could be considered noncontroversial. CONSISTENCY? NPOV?
How is the inclusion of a notice that "This user supports the U.S. Democratic Party" or has a particular sexual orientation any less an "ad" or advertisement than a notice that a user supports the ONE campaign "Make Poverty History?" (which this user's "redirection" of that user template (MPH-ONE) altered on my talk page; it probably should have been on my user page, but now the redirection of the notice makes that not feasible). See 1ne's own user page for all the notices (and ads) listed. Scroll up for discussion of the inclusion of support for the U.S. Democratic Party.
[NB: This query is not based on any particular political disagreement, as I support the U.S. Democratic political party too. Rather, it is a query re: lack of consistency (and even hypocrisy) in redirecting a notice concerning support for "Make Poverty History" by a user who includes a notice for supporting the U.S. Democratic Party, etc. (including the sexual orientation notice).]
If this user (1ne) is "opposed to ads" in Wikipedia's users' pages, then a notice of support for a political party and a notice of having a particular sexual orientation (a highly political issue these days) do not belong on this page. See the other items included as well from a similarly consistent position. What do all these notices "advertise" about this editor and his/her neutrality or lack of neutrality as an administrator/editor in Wikipedia? Ironically, if one is "against ads" in Wikipedia, why are there so many of these notices included on this user's own user page? - I think I misinterpreted the redirection of the Make Poverty History ONE campaign notice that led me to this talk page. The idea of being opposed to ads in Wikipedia misled me, since I interpreted that to me throughout Wikipedia, including such notices on people's own user pages. I've replied on my own talk page and added what appears to be the proper tag to my user page (on a trial basis). I still don't quite understand the purpose of redirecting the ONE campaign notice, however. It's confusing. I think it was an easier tag to post the way it was originally. Actually, I am aware of WP:ASR. All I am saying is that you could have a sort of redirect saying "hey this term you're looking for is not deserving of an entry in the encyclopedia but if you're looking for its meaning then go to the Wikipedia namespace". According to Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/PESWiki, you were the one to delete PESWiki.
I put a lot of time into updating that site today to come into conformity with WP:WEB, citing references to PESWiki in mainstream press articles, including Wired, LA Daily, Provo Daily Herald (top 10 news in Utah). I did not save the most recent version because I thought there were seven days of review before a site is deleted. You deleted it before 6 days was up.
Could you send me a copy of the code for the version prior to deletion?

Among some of my edits, I rightly shifted the "immaculate tan" sentence from his "==Biography==" secion to the physical features discussion, I added a "==References==" section, piped the "trademarked" and "Byron Scott" link, moved the Miami Heat discussion into the "=Miami Heat=" section, streamlined the prose, removed some unnecessary overlinkings, and you have gone and reverted the whole lot - apparently all because there was one small change you disagreed with. You are a sloppy editor. That was sloppy editing.

"erm no" is the edit summary you left after removing the [citation needed] beside the name David Ragan.
Can you clarify your summary?
The paragraph in question stated "Kannapolis is the birthplace of... David Ragan [citation needed]".
In trying to check that fact, all signs pointed to David Ragan's birthplace as Unadilla, GA.
David's current hometown may be Kannapolis, NC, but again, the paragraph in question is the birthplace, thus [citation needed].

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics
When referring to the athletic teams at UWM, "Wisconsin-Milwaukee", and any variation there of, is indeed improper. I've added a cite stating this (the conference's official media guide), and corrected the article. I am very familiar with this situation, having worked with the school's SID regarding this issue in recent years. I realize it may seem like a strange idea, but just think about what the University of Wisconsin-Madison calls their athletics teams... the "Wisconsin" Badgers. They use only a part of their schools name, the part they believe best identifies the school for athletics. UWM simply does the same thing now. This is also not uncommon in recent years with other large state universities that compete in the NCAA's D-I, such as UNC-Charlotte and UT-Chattanooga that have done the same. Denver 2008 - the latest
Hey, 1ne. I'm dropping by the talk pages of Wikipedians for Denver 2008 today with an update on the bidding process and where Denver's bid is currently at.

Second, today the site-selection committee is expected to announce the final two cities in the bid for 2008. Hi there, UW-Madision is the first campus of University of Wisconsin. In the past decades, the University of Wisconsin has expanded to 13 universities. It is more appropriate to direct University of Wisconsin to University of Wisconsin System. I also find that's how University of California and University of Illinois are presented in Wiki. They don't just go directly to the first campus. By the way, I see a lot of editors suggested to direct University of Wisconsin to University of Wisconsin System. Joe Lieberman
1ne, I am not sure I understand the rationale for the block on Lieberman. There was one user repeatedly adding the "anti-Palestinian" sentence to the lead. Admin JoshuaZ has since intervened (WP:BLP). There is also ongoing discussion of whether Lieberman is a Democrat or an Independent, but that does not seem to have reached the point of being an edit war.
Can we look forward to a contribution on the talk page, explaining the block and directing us to discuss to resolve whatever caused it?

I see you protected the Thanksgiving page, so you are either an administrator, or interested in the page, or were bored to pieces one day, but probably are more experienced at Wikipedia policies than I am. Can you tell me whether these "Directory" additions[25] have any merit? Are they legit? Should they be allowed to stand? I loathe spam, and I don't understand quite if this is merely a clever way of adding spam. I suspect my learning curve at Wikipedia is rather steep, but swear I'll catch on one day. I read the guidelines as to what is noteworthy, and it appears that it a subject that has a large amount of professional publications and research. Nursing and it's subspecalties certaintly fall under this category, as it it a well established profession, with a long tradition of research and professional publications. As to not having it in the article, If you would let me know how you would like to see it worked in in other than references, I would appricate any advice that you have for me. Other than that, I did put into the talk page that it was an unfinished project, as it is a work that will take a little time. Please consider restoring the page, as I feel it would be a valuble contribution to Wikipedia, and also to the profession of nursing to allow for a more through public understanding of the critical care subspecality. The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. I noticed you deleted this template with the claim that it had passed deletion via TFD. I could not find the deletion you were talking about, since it did not link to the article (as a TFD should). There was a TFD in August 2005, but it ended with a "keep". I restored the template, but if there was a deletion vote on this template that I missed, let me know. Here is what the person on the talk page said, and I'll even bold the important point: "I'm not going to delete a template used in a large number of pages, so someone else can listyfy it and then re-list the template for deletion if they wish." It does not say that it should be deleted, but that someone can renominate it for deletion at a later date. Did you read the vote? Only three people voted to listify/delete while two others voted to keep. That's hardly consensus to have the template deleted, so it shouldn't be. Hi, I lifted your block of 63.135.130.226, which you stated was for blankings on Steve Kagen. As far as I could tell, the IP has never blanked the article, although there does appear to be a content dispute. That's not surprising, since there's a fairly recent incident that has gotten heavy play online. So your semi-protection of the article seems appropriate to me, but I couldn't see any justification for a block, especially since no warnings had been given. There wasn't even a three-revert rule violation, so a block, particularly of one week, seemed rather excessive under the circumstances. --Michael Snow 07:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I tried to put the Injun comment back on the Kagen site, but I was disallowed from doing so. However, the corrections to the White House comments were footnoted, and should have stayed. What is being posted reads like a Republican blog about Kagen, and accurate statements I had placed about the Oneida's nonreaction which were clearly stated in the article being cited were deleted. The postings are portraying Kagen is a unfavor negative light. Kagen denied making the comments, and the story was unsubstantiated. If mentions were made about his co-sponsored prescription drug plan passing Congress this week had been mentioned, the the article might have some degree of balance. I read your comment that it isn't a "Republican" blog. In retrospect there were a couple of sentences I should have not posted, but you deleted the entire Green Bay Press-Gazette article, which had you read the article provided a more complete discussion of the issue, which is the point of an encyclopedia. It also interestingly showed the Press-Gazette's definition of civility, although that was a comment that I shouldn't have posted.
No mention of Kagen co-sponsoring the Medicare prescription drug plan passing Congress, no quote of the actual article that the White House story first appeared in, no quote of Wisconsin Politics coverage of the issue, etc.
Once again, if the link can't provide fair, balanced, and complete coverage, the link needs to come down. We need to take this to arbitration.

Hello,
I see that you are also active in the Spanish wikipedia. I have been assisting with the English Don Quixote project recently. I have a complaint about some vandalism there, and do not know how to handle that. Please advise.

Restoring blocked user's pages
Why did you restore User:Clockwork Soul? General consensus is that, unless there's a particular historic reason to keep an indefinately blocked user's page, they are deleted after a month or so. See the description on Category:Temporary_Wikipedian_userpages, etc. There's no good reason to keep these pages. I need your help
On the DragonBall wikia, I created some templates there such as a Template:Message box and have been trying to properly create [[27]] exactly like you created a User:1ne/Title here on this Wikipedia. I could really, really use your help, man. We don't have any administrators there to help out at this stuff and a friend of mine there couldn't find anyone also. See, I just want it created obviously so I can hide the "User:" in my username there. I don't plan to edit this Wikipedia with the username I'm talking to you with now, as it was only made to conceal my IP address; I'm more desparately needed to help out there. So, if you could help, that would be great! Also, I tried creating Template:Tracking category and Template:Interwiki there also, as I thought it was the case. Perhaps it isn't and was a mistake of mine to make them (I'm still an amateur at this template stuff ;[) So, whenever possible, may you please respond to my account there only or just fix those templates and let me know? Also, please note that your edit summary, No consensus was reached about this, is incorrect. An administrator judged that consensus had been reached. You, like other editors, are not empowered to simply conclude that this administrator misread the situation and made a mistake (that is, to decide, on your own, that consensus did not exist, when the administrator concluded that it did).

What did you expect me to do? How long do I have to leave up a merger proposal before I have "clear concensus?" In the merge discussion, I had two people leave comments stating that it was their opinion to merge the pages. Sure, they were both IP users and there were only two, but there was no one who appeared during the discussion who was against it. Your comment makes it seem as if no discussion can reach a concensus without you there to offer your opinion. That doesn't seem right... I cannot find anything in the rules that say I need any number of votes for a merger, or that an Admin has to take part in the discussion. It doesn't even list a time limit. I thought that with a month having gone by, enough time would have passed to reach a concensus. You were just late, it seems. I suppose you could propose an un-merger, or something like that, but I would vote against it. -Platypus Man | Talk 14:26, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- Of course, I forgot. IPs aren't real people. They aren't allowed to have opinions on what happens on Wikipedia. That's why you have to log in and have a username to edit Wikipedia. I should have waited for a real person to show up. Oh, wait! They are real people. The reason I merged is that I felt there was a concensus, regardless of the people who provided the concensus. I didn't even have to do a discussion, I just wanted to to see if others agreed with me. It seems to me that they did. If you really think that reopening the discussion will reverse the decision, then reopen it. - I don't **know**. But I have a very strong suspicion that this is a TV frame grab from one of the the old Soviet TV network. Considering how CNN did not cover the meetings of the politburo in 1990 or so. Nor did Adam Carr. So I am asking you if you seriously in good faith believe that he holds the copyright to the image. Because if you do, God save us all, and God save the foundation. I have advocated for a while - mostly quietly - that people younger that 19 or so should not as a general proposition be made administrators, because people this young tend to lack critical judgment. Hi 1ne. Now, a user, Coin945, had 2 articles which he created, Minigames (Club Penguin) and Club Penguin Locations, but those articles wre deleted due to their unnotability. Now, since you are an administrator, could you please view those deleted pages with your administrative powers, copy the content, and post those drafts at Coin945´s talk page so that he can have them on his userspace? I think he would really be gratefull if you were to do so...
