User:One/Admin House

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome to Admin House, the one and only place on Wikipedia where you tell me your user resumé, and I deem if you're worthy to be nominated to be an admin or not. No, we're not Waffle House, and this isn't a joke.

Do you think you can help the project out better or further the project along by being an admin? Let me know here. Post stuff about your wiki career, and I'll look it over.

NOTICE: I am a very busy person at times. It will take me as little as a few hours, or as much as three days to look at your resumé. Do not feel offended if it takes me a while to get to you. Just because the user before you took one day to get approved or not approved doesn't mean I'm using preferential treatment or anything like that.

What to put in your resumé: Your total edits. Don't know how to get a tally of your edits? Go to Kate's tool, and enter your name in and find out.

How long you have been on the project. Users who have only been on for less than a year have a lesser chance of suceeding, but sometimes they do.

Any recent fights with other users? Recent fights can sometimes be bad for you on an rfa, unless the other user was known to be a troll or vandal.

Any bad faith edits in the past? Really, truly, please don't be afraid to tell me - I'm not going to nail you to a cross if you chased down a user on their talk page for being nasty to you or something like that.

Are you a member of any projects?

Have you created any spoken articles, or translated any articles to other wikis?

Have you founded any WikiProjects?

Anything else you think you should put?

Here's an example of what you should put:

[edit] AverageUser123

OK, here we go.

I have 2,692 edits, according to Kate's tool.

I joined the project on November 13th, 2004.

Since joining in November, I have had two fights with other users. One was with Chris1234501 over POV pushing in George Washington, and the other was a fight with a user named JackSparrow42 over Atheism, that ended with JackSparrow42 getting banned for 3RR.

The only bad faith edit I have ever made was on JackSparrow42's talk page, where I called him a "jackass" and an "asshole". I apologized 10 days later.

I am not a member of any projects, have never created a spoken article, and have never translated an article to another wiki.

I have not founded any WikiProjects.

I've welcomed 30 users in my time on Wikipedia, I think that should be put here. {that's an example of something miscellaneous. Saying that you welcomed users is not obligatory; you can put something else if you so desire or wish.}

Well, that sums it up for me.

You ready to put yourself up for consideration? GO!!!

[edit] Phroziac

I first edited the project on June 2, 2005. I was recently in a dispute with Rbj, because I blocked him, and he went crazy and took me to arbcom, who rejected the request.

I'm not an active member of any wikiprojects currently, but am a member of several. I've welcomed a ton of users, and enjoy rollbacking vandalism. Can i be an admin? --Phroziac . o º O (♥♥♥♥ chocolate!) 00:28, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Ta bu shi da yu

I've been editing here a while, have contributed to a few articles (latest one is USA PATRIOT Act, Title II). I've helped get MDAC, Windows 2000, Exploding whale and several other articles up to speed. I think I have over 20,000 edits... not sure. Founded the Sydney Wikiproject, though I've let that slide... I also started the admin noticeboard. Been fairly civil to people and a few people seem to think I do good work. Good at reverting vandalism. Whatcha reckon? - Ta bu shi da yu 12:25, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Proto

I've been editing since March 2005. 4280 edits, 2230 on articles, 1271 on Wikipedia namespaces (quite a bit of AfD involvement, where I think I'm quite sensible)

I haven't had any serious fights. A few squabbles, but I try my best to by nice. The one user I did fall out with temporarily was User:Pigsonthewing, but our last contact was amiable enough. I do sometimes jump on people for newbie biting, because I despise it.

Project membership - not really. I think my name's on a couple, the one I tend to get most involved with is long-requested articles, which doesn't really have a project memberhsip, but I've created a bunch of articles through that. Not founded any projects, all the good ones are around already.

I've got one article to FA status, creating the first edit way back in June or July, and nursing it gently through each and every step, until the awesome day of December 15th, when it hit the main page, baby. One or two users (one was User:Marskell) have asked to nominate me for adminship. I've done a bit of anti-vandal stuff, but not much, as there's a bunch of people with the rollback button, so it's easier for them.

I vote quite a bit of RfA, as well, so the fact I'm quite strict and vote oppose more than the average person may well count against me. Let me know what you think. Proto t c 15:42, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aranda56

Let's see I have more than 5,500 edits evenly spread across all spaces. I had 3 failed RFA's but I learned from my mistakes. I would like to be nominated later rather than sooner, after January 31 but you can create my RFA now ;) --Jaranda wat's sup 00:19, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] FrancisTyers

I have 2,738 edits, according to Kate's tool. I also contribute to fr.wiki (48) and commons (196) - mostly photo uploads, see my Gallery and sorting pd-soviet images.

I joined the project on December 25th 2004.

I have been editting for one year on Christmas day (lol), but was editting with IP before then.

No recent fights, but I have mediated a dispute on Template:Politics of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.

I got pretty angry at Kurdistan Workers Party with Cool_Cat et. al. earlier in the year. I have probably been sarcastic from time to time, but not within the past few months.

I started the Wikipedia:WikiProject Soviet Union, which I participate in, and I am a member of the Wikipedia:French Collaboration Project.

I translate articles to/from fr.wikipedia, and sometimes translate parts from de/es with the help of friends. An example of my work at: Maria Sibylla Merian (not the whole article, look at the edit history).

I work on RC patrol for vandalism and AfD'ing. I've welcomed a fair number of users and warn users regarding wikipedia policy. I've recently been working on Leprechaun and hope to get it up to FA standard. - FrancisTyers 00:24, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
