Onega Bay

Onega Bay (Russian: Онежская губа, Онежский залив) is a bay of the White Sea in northwestern Russia, southwest of Arkhangelsk. Length: 185 km, width:50-100 km, depth: 16 m (average), 36 m (max).

Rivers Onega, Kem and Vyg flow into the bay. The bay has numerous islands, the largest and most famous being the Solovetsky Islands. On the west coast there are the town of Belomorsk and the outlet of the White Sea-Baltic Canal.
