Season four of One Tree Hill, an American teen drama television series, began airing on September 27, 2006. The season concluded June 13, 2007, after 21 episodes. This is the first season to air on the newly formed CW television network. Season four regular cast members include Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Hilarie Burton, Bethany Joy Galeotti, Paul Johansson, Sophia Bush, Barbara Alyn Woods, Lee Norris, Danneel Harris, Barry Corbin and Moira Kelly.

This season focuses on the final half of senior year at Tree Hill High School. The season begins with the effects of the car accident from the season three finale, and continues with Prom to graduation. Storylines included meeting Peyton's (Burton) internet stalker and the pregnencies of Haley (Galeotti) and Karen (Kelly). The Tree Hill Ravens play the much anticipated State Final, and the characters react to the revelation that Dan (Johansson) was the person who killed Keith (Craig Sheffer). In this season, most episodes were named after rock albums rather than after songs.

Season four rose in ratings, averaging 2.9 million viewers weekly, becoming #136 in the Nielsen Ratings system.[4]

It's Prom day, and emotions are flying high at Tree Hill. An emotional Haley confronts Nathan about the sex tape and asks for a list of all his past sexual encounters. Meanwhile, an angry Peyton asks Lucas to skip the dance altogether, but he refuses to take no for an answer. Finally, Brooke and Peyton let out all their tension in a confrontation that can tear them apart forever. This episode is named after a song by The Long Winters.

As graduation approaches, Haley prepares for the recital of her valedictorian speech and motherhood, Nathan must adjust to life without basketball, Brooke makes a confession that may have great consequences, and Lucas confronts Dan after Karen's life is threatened. The song Times Like These from the Foo Fighters is heard during the graduation scene. This episode is named after a song by Explosions in the Sky.[7]

Antwon Tanner became a series regular as Antwon "Skills" Taylor, after guest starring in the first three seasons. Danneel Harris was also added to the main cast as Rachel Gatina, after guest starring in 18 episodes of season three. Craig Sheffer reprised his role as Keith Scott for two episodes, having been part of the main cast for the first three seasons.

Bevin Prince returned as cheerleader Bevin Mirskey, with Shawn Shepard returning to portray the school's principal, Principal Turner. Cullen Moss and Vaughn Wilson reprised their roles as Junk Moretti and Ferguson "Fergie" Thompson. Michael Trucco once again portrayed Nathan's uncle, Cooper Lee. Allison Scagliotti-Smith returned to develop her character, Abby Brown, who had appeared in one episode of season three. Tyler Hilton reappeared as Chris Keller for one episode. Amber Wallace guest stared as Glenda Farrell and Kelsey Chow returned as Mouth's co-announcer Gigi Silveri.

New cast members include Matt Barr who portrayed Ian Banks, Peyton's stalker. Stephen Colletti was cast as Chase Adams, a clean teen who Brooke would later date. Elizabeth Harnois was brought in to play Shelly Simon who started the clean teen club, and would later become involved with Mouth. Rick Fox was added as Daunte Jones, a loan shark who selects Nathan to be his victim. Once it was revealed that Ian Banks was not Peyton's brother like he pretended, Ernest Waddell appeared as Derek Sommers, the true brother of Peyton. Reynaldo Valentin portrayed teacher, Nick Chavez, who briefly dated Brooke. CariDee English had a guest role as Tia, after winning a challenge in America's Next Top Model.
