[edit] Music Video

The official music video was added on the popular video sharing site YouTube via Sparks' official channel on May 28, 2008, but was quickly removed without explanation. The official video later made it's official debut on Amazon.com June 9, 2008. Photos from the video are available on Sparks official site. The video was posted back on June 5, 2008 (YouTube). After the premiere, the music video was available for purchase on the iTunes Music Store.

The 'One Step at a Time' music video begins by showing Jordin Sparks in a green dress and matching green high-heeled shoes walking down the streets of an urban street and eventually driving in a taxi. The video shows quick montages of a young couple preparing for what seems to be a formal dance, small children maintaining a lemonade stand, a teen girl and her family moving personal items into a van, a young teen teaching his little brother to ride a skateboard, two friends planting a small plant into a garden, and two friends painting a bench. At the end of the video Sparks is singing in a recording studio to the ending climax of the song. She then holds her hand to the camera and the message, "I (heart) you Wendy" is shown. Wendy was a close family friend of Sparks that recently died of Melanoma. The reddish hightlights in Sparks's hair was put in to show awareness for this type of cancer.
