"One Minute Man" is a hip hop single released in 2001 by American female rapper Missy Elliott, featuring fellow rappers Ludacris and Trina from her third album Miss E… So Addictive. It peaked at #15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The album version of the song only features Elliott and Ludacris. The original version features Trina, and it talks about "Missy" and Trina saying they don't want a "minute man", while Ludacris says he isn't a minute man and he can make the sex last.

Missy Elliott, Ludacris, & Trina wrote their own verses for the song. Timbaland produced the song with Big Tank and Elliott as co-producers.

The single marked the first (but not the last) time Elliott worked with Trina and Ludacris. The album version of the song only features a guest rap from Ludacris, and a bonus remix of the song featuring Jay-Z also appears at the end of the album.

[edit] Promotion

Missy performed "One Minute Man" and "Get Ur Freak On (Remix)" live at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards as a medley and a tribute to Aaliyah. Nelly Furtado, Ludacris, and Trina were all featured in the performance.

[edit] Video

The music video takes place in a hotel, with Rosa Blasi as a prostitute and Shar Jackson as a receptionist. Missy, Ludacris, Trina, and Timbaland are apparently staying there overnight (though not with each other). Ginuwine appears in the lounge with a woman on the sofa while Wanda Sykes lip-synchs the refrain in the hallway. Notable occurrences in the video include Missy floating, Ludacris performing on a hydraulic bed, Blasi accepting a burrito in exchange for sexual favors, and Trina performing in an oddly tilted room. Missy removes her head and holds it while she sings. At the end of the video, Missy uses her common mini-video strategy to promote another track from the same album. The mini-video is for "Whatcha Gon' Do". The video was nominated for 6 2002 MTV Video Music Awards, for, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Direction, Best Editing, Best Art Direction, Best Special Effects, and Best Cinematography.
