Javed (Jackie Shroff) and Arun (Shahrukh Khan), are Special Task Force officers that arrest the notorious drug lord, KKV (Nirmal Pandey). While on a drug raid, Javed is shot down by an unknown killer. Later in court, KKV walks away using his powerful connections.

Arun is devastated and soon finds out that Javed left his four kids behind in his care in his will. The kids, though, all dislike him. He seeks Geetha's (Juhi Chawla) help to bring them up. A close relationship develops between Geetha and the kids. Meanwhile, Arun continues the case to find the killer who took his best friends life. Things take a dramatic turn when Arun sees a girl resembling Geetha dancing in a nightclub with the prime suspect in Javed's murder. A few days later, he himself is suspended for a crime he did to get some money to bring up Javed's kids well but he thought no one knew it. Geeta and Arun fall in love.

Geeta is an under cover agent for the secret police. She testifies against Arun and gets him suspended. Later, Arun goes after someone to find out how drugs were placed in his home and learns that Javed was murdered. Sawant kills JD before he has reached and is caught.

The climax of this film is a direct lift from the John Woo movie: Face/Off
