Action Research (charity) at AfD
The charity is actually one of the major UK medical research charities. I have rewritten the article in an attempt to remove the promotional tone. Espresso Addict 02:45, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

- I'm glad it's been improved as a result of the AfD -- the existing article was dreadful! To withdraw the nomination you just need to strike out the original AfD rationale, state "Nomination withdrawn" or similar, and sign. An admin should then decide whether or not closure is merited, as I notice someone has suggested deletion of the article in its current state. Cheers, Espresso Addict 20:43, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Hello,
How does one go about locking the contents of a page? The mere fact that people can make changes without any approval causes some pages to have inaccurate or "inflated" information? Please help.

Hmmm, it depends on the page. If the page has a lot of vandalism then you can request page protection here. Only an administrator can lock the contents of the page. Hope this helps!v--θnce θn this island Speak! 01:58, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh, and if a page has inaccurate or "inflated" information, you can bring it up on the articles talk page. Requesting protection is only for articles with heavy vandalism. --θnce θn this island Speak! 02:16, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Wikiholism
I recently posted this as a cure for wikiholism. If you discipline yourself, you should be able to wean yourself off of Wikipedia:
Cure discovered: Want to cure your Wikiholism? Well it is actually quite simple to do. Every time you wish to get on Wikipedia, or even to check your watchlist without editing, pour yourself a glass of water. Next, mix in a teaspoon or two (depending on how strong of a dose you want) of salt, and mix. You must swish the salt-water in your mouth for at least a minute and a half before you can go on Wikipedia. Continue to do this for a while, increasing salt content if you need a higher dose. Another variation is a mixture of water and hot sauce, but this you must drink fully before getting on. If you continue to drink the mixtures every time you edit Wikipedia, you will eventually associate Wikipedia with the mixture and quit or at least edit less. Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet.
