[edit] New characters
I feel it would be very appropriate to include in this article profiles for the new characters, since at this stage it is highly unlikely they will be included in the page Non-rail vehicles (Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends).

[edit] 35mm Film
It says here that the series has been filmed with the the 35mm film instead of the digital film. Has HIT decided that digital film doesn't work or something like that?ohyeh 16:11, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think so. By the looks of it, these are episodes made around the time of Series 6/7 but not released on video or DVD until recently.
[edit] Printing Error
I find it definately odd that the back cover of the DVD states that the narrator is long-time Thomas veteran George Carlin. Anchor Bay usually lets printing errors go by, but this has to be the biggest.

Mud Glorious Mud isn't available in any Jack and the Pack DVDs in the USA. Sorry! Zeldabalooney2006 05:33, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Recent Vandalism
There's been a thing of vandalism going on in this page, like fake episodes such as "Max, Monty, Emily" and "Snow around the World". And user 81.158.219.3 just vandalised my post up there with his fake episodes! This page is becoming another early Season 10 page! Should we protect it? BigThomasFan
- Again, there is more badly-written fake synopses for fake episodes. I wish people would stop it!

I found one. It's called "Patrick in a Danger Of Situation." TobytheTramEngine 19:09, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've semi-protected the page temporarily. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 01:40, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
I heard about Snow around the World but not Max, Monty, Emily. She won't be in a pack episode! There was an Underwater Pack episode. STOP WRITING VANDALS! --S.C.Ruffeyfan 17:02, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- We're trying to take some of the pressure off the WP articles by creating a home for what we have termed "Fan Fiction" on Train Spotting World. If we get this right it means that those who wish to invent things in TtTE articles now have a home to do it which does not aggravate more serious minded WP editors. We can live with fiction on TSW whereas WP cannot. Fiddle Faddle 23:08, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Comfiremed
James and Henry cameo in A Tale for Thomas go the youtube.com for proof.

- Sighs* Here we go again.
- YouTube is NOT proof, for ANYTHING. See: WP:V, WP:RS.

- It's true, they do appear. I have seen the episode with my own eyes, both on YouTube and on the DVD it was released on. They don't interact with the Pack though, but only put in a brief appearance during the opening scene at Tidmouth Sheds.
[edit] Accidents?
There seems to be a bit of an obsession about when the characters have their 'first accidents'. Is this really worth including here? It would seem to me detail for detail's sake. EdJogg 13:00, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Name change?
Would it be worth changing the title of this article? It gives the impression that the article is dealing only with the American DVD release, when really it encompasses the UK release too. I think it should be changed, possibly to "Jack and the Pack" or something like that.
-
- I was wondering that. It doesn't make it clear within the article whether it is called On Site with Thomas in the US or not. It just says It is not called On Site with Thomas. Perhaps a simply solution would be for the opening sentence to read On Site with Thomas (UK release: Jack and the Pack is a direct-to video release...... Mdcollins1984 10:18, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- I'm in the UK, my little boy has a copy of this DVD and it's called "Thomas' Trusty Friends" (see here. It doesn't seem to be called "Jack and the Pack" anywhere.... ChrisTheDude 14:41, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Maxnmonty.jpg
Image:Maxnmonty.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notice to Vandals
Page semi-protected for 3 days. After this period, any user re-adding these false episodes will receive their only warning on their talk page, any further re-adding will result in a block. Bots do not pick up these edits, and this means editors will have to manually revert these edits and in the mean-time, people looking through the information might think these vandal edits were actually factual, meaning we'd be misguiding them on one what is generally one of the most reliable places on the web, and that shouldn't happen. I ask any editor here helping revert these edits to leave a warning on the user's talk page from now on--particularly the following one:
{{uw-vandalism4im}} ~~~~
This template, once placed on their talk page, would look like:
This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing.
If they make edits after you already reverted, see Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism, report them as it states to there, and administrators will either issue a final warning, or in most cases, block the user. Once again, do not re-add these false episodes, or you could risk a block. Any questions, see my talk page. C. Foultz 02:11, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Here we go again
Bogus episodes are up.... again. Zeldabalooney2006 19:27, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
- Warn them, though I'm probably going to put this up on the noticeboard, since no one else is doing any enforcement... C. Foultz 06:09, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
- It appears as if this is block evasion, so I'm requesting, yet again, reprotection, as well as noting the case of block evasion so this can at least be more controllable. C. Foultz 00:05, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
-
- I thought warning a vandalizer is an administrator's job. Oh well. TobytheTramEngine 01:42, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] US Version Missing Some Episodes
I just purchased the US version of this DVD (On Site with Thomas, DV14744, 2006), but it only contains 6 episodes and runs only 35 minutes. The episodes are:
- A Visit from Thomas
- Jack Owns Up
- On Site with Thomas
- Percy's Scary Tale
- Kelly's Windy Day
- A Happy Day for Percy
--Skb8721 23:41, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- But there is also a "Thomas' Trusty Friends" DVD (I can't remember the item number, 2007) that has
- Thomas' Trusty Friends
- Alfie has Kittens
- A Tale for Thomas
- The Tortoise and the Hare
- Percy Helps Out
- Thomas and the Moles
- You can find it at any place that sells DVDs. BigThomasFan 01:51, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- I understand, but I should have explained that the Wikipedia entry for this program says that "On Site with Thomas" contains 13 episodes, when my copy of "On Site with Thomas" contains only 6 -- should the entry be changed to address this discrepancy? Is the entry simply wrong? (Also, why does this entry begin with "Jack and the Pack" in bold, when the title of the article and program is actually "On Site with Thomas"?)
-
- I suggest revising the opening paragraph like so:
-
- On Site with Thomas is a direct-to-video release for the Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends series, much like the movie Calling All Engines. These episodes feature the return of the Sodor Construction Company, better known as The Pack, their first appearance since Season 6. It was released in North America on 15 August 2006 and in the UK on the 2 October 2006. All episodes are narrated by Michael Brandon in the North American release, while the UK release was narrated by Michael Angelis.
-
- If there are discrepancies between the US and UK versions, however -- such as how many or what episodes are included -- they should be mentioned here. What do you think?
- Sincerely, --Skb8721 14:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Any suggestions about my above idea for a revision of the 1st paragraph? Also, what do about the fact that the rest of the article contains a list of 13 episodes? Should we say "Some DVD releases contain 13 episodes, while some only contain 6?"
[edit] URGENT WP:THOMAS ATTENTION REQUIRED
I've just looked-up this page (to double-check some facts that have appeared on a page at TrainSpotting World) and I find that the introduction to the article is incomprehensible. Worse still, comments about the same problem were raised nearly a year ago.
There has been enough discussion on this page to indicate that a solution is possible, so could one of the WP:THOMAS members familiar with the DVD/s please do something about it soon -- if only to get the facts straight! (I can polish the wording later, if you like, but I cannot determine the necessary facts from the text that is there.) Thank you (in hope...)
(PS - If I have to edit it myself, you may find the page becomes rather shorter, as I am becoming less tolerate of ultra-trivial information on TtTE&F pages.)
EdJogg 08:26, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- I believe this is what I was discussing in my above recent posting, too. The intro is partly incomprehensible because it does not hold true for the version of the DVD that I own, which contains only a fraction of the episodes mentioned in this article. Therefore, the article appears to be, in my opinion, not entirely accurate. Thanks, --Skb8721 22:37, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- So does it mean this article can be moved to Jack and the Pack to prevent confusion? TobytheTramEngine 17:51, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- What we have are three titles: On Site with Thomas, Jack and the Pack, and Thomas Trusty Friends. The lead paragraph should make clear which is which, which came first, etc. I would say that the article name should belong to whichever was around first (and I thought this was "On Site with Thomas"). Also, if you are only aware of the US releases, and not the UK releases, or vice versa, then please only modify what you can do safely.
-
-
-
- So to answer your question, yes, the article can be renamed, if that is appropriate. However, the introduction needs rewriting first, so everyone can be clear why the name is being changed.

- Oh, I see. By the way, is Jack and the Pack really a video or does it focus on episodes from On Site with Thomas and Thomas' Trusty Friends? TobytheTramEngine 18:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

-
-
-
-
-
- Well that's the whole problem, isn't it? I don't know, so to find that out I need to read this article...
- EdJogg 20:47, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm afraid Jack and the Pack will do for this article because On Site with Thomas and Thomas' Trusty Friends are video releases. However, there are two versions of Thomas' Trusty Friends. One has every episode except Jack Owns Up and Percy's Scary Tale. Another features episodes not included in On Site with Thomas. Correct me if I'm wrong. [re-indent] My concerns have still not been addressed. Hopefully, somebody with some knowledge of this thing can sort out the mess. Alternatively, we can just put the page up for deletion and have done with it - I think it would struggle to survive an AfD.
(NB - I am no longer watching this page, so I will not see any reply to this comment. Come and find me if you need further input.) EdJogg (talk) 13:17, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] True?
Is this statement True? - The Japanese, Chinese, and Korean versions of this season use the original Thomas the Tank Engine theme tune and have music composed by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell, just like the British version of Season 7, and use 35mm film, like the seasons 1-7. Patrick, Nelson, Monty, and Buster are voiced by individual voice actors.
Even though I know for a Fact it had 35mm film but somewhere I heard Japan had never seen Seasons 9-11 which might include this? Could someone tell me? - Bladez636 (talk · contribs)
