On My Honor

On My Honor is a short Newbery Honor award-winning novel by Marion Dane Bauer about two boys (Joel and Tony) who go swimming in a forbidden river, with tragic results, as Tony drowns and dies in the river. It is frequently read in the United States as part of elementary school curricula.
