This is the fifth album released by Cardiacs.

The album is revered by many fans as being the definitive Cardiacs release, and it was the last to feature the 'classic' line-up. It was produced by Tim Smith and engineered by Roger Tebbutt. Recording and mixing took place in 1988 at The Slaughterhouse in Yorkshire. After a brief period of unavailability, the album was re-pressed in August 2007 and is now available on the band's official website. Sarah Smith left the band shortly before the album was released.

The Dutch record label Torso also released this album on CD, but with the inclusion of five extra tracks.
