Omutninsk

Omutninsk (Russian: Омутнинск) is a town in Kirov Oblast, Russia. First mentioned in 1773, town since 1921. It is located at 58°40′00″N, 52°11′00″E. Its population as of the 2005 was 25,400.

The Institute of Applied Biochemistry is situated near Omutninsk. According to Dr. Ken Alibek it was (possibly is) a combined pesticide production facility and reserve biological weapons production plant that could be activated in time of war.
