OmniVision Technologies (NASDAQOVTI) is a fabless designer and seller of CMOS image sensors. They have recently acquired CDM-Optics, a company founded to commercialize Wavefront Coding.[2] Their largest source of manufacturing is the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation. OVT has had a number of innovations in the past few years:

  • The first 1/4 inch 2 MP CMOS image sensor.[3]
  • The sole endoscopic CMOS image sensor with bi-directional vision, intended for general endoscopic use. The capability to view both in the direction of the scope's insertion and away from it provides for the possibility of higher chances of detection during endoscopies such as colonoscopy.[citation needed]
  • Disposable laryngoscopic image sensors which are supplied to ETView for use in the Tracheoscopic Ventilation Tube for intubation.[4]
  • The first to create a digital camera that allows all fields to be in focus.[5]
