OmniSTAR is a wide-area differential GPS system developed by the case corporation as the Starfire from Deere & Company . OmniSTAR correction signals are encrypted, and a subscription must be bought from the OmniSTAR corporation to receive a decryption key.[1]. OmniSTAR uses geostationary satellites in 8 regions covering most of the landmass of each inhabited continent on Earth: MSV-E, MSV-C, MSV-W (North America), AM-SAT (Central and South America and the Carribean), AFSAT (Africa), AP-SAT (Asia, Australasia, Western Pacific, Eastern Africa, Southern Africa), OCSAT (Australia, New Zealand), and EA-SAT (Europe, West Africa, Middle East)[2]. MSV service is provided by the MSAT AMSC-1 and MSAT-M1 satellites, operated by a company called Mobile Satellite Ventures.
