Omiroupoli or Homiroupoli (Greek, Modern: Ομηρούπολη, Ancient Katharevousa, -is), older form: Omiroupolis is a municipality of 7,335 people at the north central part of Chios island. It is the only bi-coastal municipality on the island, its territory stretching across the island from west to east. The seat of the municipality is Vrontados (2001 census, 4,554), the second largest town on the island (after Chios (town)) and home of 62 percent of the municipality's population. The next largest towns are Lagkáda (916), Karyaí (763), and Sykiáda (571).

Tradition claims that epic poet Homer (Όμηρος) was born and lived here, thus the name of the municipality.

Omiroupoli has schools, lyceums, a few gymnasia, churches, banks, a post office and squares (plateies) and a small port.
