I (Matt Crypto) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- The image is used for educational purposes only in a non-profit encyclopedia.
- The image is no larger and of no higher quality than is necessary for the illustration of an article.
- The artifact depicted is an historical cipher machine which is no longer in production or for sale.
- The use of the image on Wikipedia is not expected to decrease the value of the copyright.
- Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the subject of this article.
- The image was likely a promotional image for the product in question.
