Omgeo OASYS

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

OASYS was a trademarked US-financial markets trade confirmation service developed by Thomson Financial in 1991. It has been updated on a regular basis and is now known as Omgeo OASYS (service marked) and owned since 2001 by Omgeo LLC a joint-owned company of DTCC and Thomson Financial.

The OASYS system is one example of Electronic Trade Confirmation, a mid-office service performed by brokers. It supports a 3 stage allocation process.

  • Advice of Execution - the client is informed of the volume and cost of financial instrument traded in their behalf
  • Trade Allocation (optional) - the broker is told break the order into smaller blocks
  • Confirmation - the client is informed of the new blocks
