Talk:Omegatrend
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
| In my opinion, your comments below are typical of a dictatorship mind-set, trying to stop other people using their freedom to express their opinions. You cannot be 100% certain that the website in question is not accurate. You are only assuming it's not accurate because it challenges your own limited and incomplete belief regarging Omegatrend. Someone who wasted years in Omegatrend are allowed to express how this company has negatively impacted them emotionally and Spiritually. If you do not like freedom of speach just because it is not congruent with your own beliefs, than you would be wise to move to a country that enforces dictatorship laws. Your statement about the website containing half truths and factually incorrect data is totally hilarious. How on Earth would you know what that person personally experienced? You cannot know, so your statements are false and based on assumed conclusions. You will one day indeed realise that Omegatrend is not what it claims to be. Only then will you come back to this website and alter your statements about Omegatrend. You are simply a joke sir. You say in your message: "The anonymous user refuses to discuss their edits, and refuses to identify themselves. This is sneaky and deceptive. Please show yourself," Well, that's really hilarious as you yourself have not "shown" yourself and not identified yourself. You are a hypocrite! What's stopping you revealing your details and showing us your exactly details who you are? I will wait for you to reveal yourself. And only then can you demand someone else does. Wake up to yourself! We live in a democracy, so anyone who tries to suppress information from all sides of the story is nothing more than a dictator! I think the link to the website that shares the personal story and experience of an ex-member of Omegatrend should be freely available for people to visit. When you claim it should be removed, you are denying the right for a person to have all the available data for them to come to a fully informed decision about Omegatrend. What's wrong? You scared some people may learn the full truth about Omegatrend and not want to join?
- spoken like a true evangelist!
- an enclyclopedia is fact and reference based... not based on "because somebody said so".
- "free speech", "democracy", huh? This is no excuse for writing any old thing! Such things should be left to the blogs.

[edit] unverifiable, POV links
Somebody added a link [http://beam.to/omegatrend/ beam.to/omegatrend] which provided a lot of false information and half-truths. Totally inappropriate for an encyclopaedia. I have now removed this link. If the person in question can find verifiable sources of reference, then by all means please add them to the site.
- Somebody added the links back again. At least convince us that these links should stay. Else they're simply a gripe, and POV rubbish.
- It's about time an administrator stepped in. An anonymous editor keeps on adding a highly POV and factually incorrect gripe page.
There is absolutely no evidence provided on that site, for the POV's expressed there. Also, the document is written by "Matthew"... how on earth are readers expected to verify this person's "facts" (many of which, by the way, are incorrect and misleading).
-
-
- The anonymous user refuses to discuss their edits, and refuses to identify themselves. This is sneaky and deceptive. Please show yourself, and explain your reasons violating the "three revert rule".
-
- I think that link should be left intact as Omegatrend can actually be the scam as mentioned. It should not be treated as "fact" but should be there to give people a good view of an opinion regarding it so they won't join the company as if its advertisement on what it does is Gospel truth. (My own opinion on that is that the company "tries" but is either surprisingly inept in execution or is simply outright lying through its teeth. I take it as the former as the company has nothing to gain by doing the latter.)
- The new markets Omegatrend entered into have been practically abandoned and getting in touch with the uplines have been extremely tough. Dodgy behavior and safe answers are given during rare moments of communication. Many promises have since been left undelivered. While Omegatrend may work for some people, it certainly is unrealistic to say that OT is the same for all people. Unscrupulous people within the organization can certainly give a negative effect to hopeful new members and ultimately become victims. One may say this is a POV but one fact is that while OT claims itself an ethical organization with all their accreditation... they certainly have not produced any legalities in the new markets which was promised to be given.
- The new markets were never abandoned, they were put on hold because of the administration. And as a field member it seems that after new image merged with Omegatrend, it seems like everybody is back to making LOTS of money.
- There hasn't been any word for the new markets and the company doesn't communicate regularly with the members of the new markets at all except for the letter about the insolvency. Things are suspended because of the administration and it's been months since the administration... and there hasn't been any updates. It's particularly disheartening since I believed in OT only to have it prove to everyone who disbelieved that they were right. Aside from the disillusionment of how "great" OT is given its "track record", what hurts the most is getting MLM-hating people to trust me about OT only to get them sorely disappointed in the end, laugh at my expense, and further prove that all MLMs are scams. I'm personally simply disappointed on how OT executed in the new markets since it really feels so much like a half-baked plan and the only thing that kept me going was to trust my upline. Unfortunate that things did not go as well as OT planned. I'm glad that OT seems to be getting up (as far as my upline mentions) and that's good. But the fact remains that the new markets are still as good as abandoned for now. I for one am looking forward to hear good news again though I'm not 100% anymore of that coming true.
[edit] financial problems
Omegatrend's current financial dilemas are not the first time this type of thing has happened to the company. I understand that it's about the third time it's had to be bailed out of financial difficulties. Does anybody have any links to information that will confirm these details?
- I heard from my own upline that this was indeed the third time and that was why it was mentioned to me that they have no doubt they will pull through because the company has done it before. I don't have any links or such to confirm this though. Anyway, the result for the third financial problem , as we know it, was the selling out of the failed company.
- Sources?
- I said I can't prove it and I'd rather not disclose my upline's identity. Maybe you can ask your upline if they know. Veterans and/or high ranking ones would have a higher chance of knowing. Of course, it's also a matter of whether they will trust you with that info. To me, knowing that only increased my faith with the company though the third one was a big blow and well.. looks like OT is still alive enough to try to make another comeback. I just wish they'd work faster and better next time especially with the new markets.
[edit] Amway V. Omegatrend
In the process of cleaning up this article I've attempted to search AustLII to find references to the case in question, but cannot turn up any information on the case or decision. Does anyone know any details about the case or which jurisdiction it was brought in? thewinchester 05:29, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Get from the right source
Hi my name is Isaac and i'm a member of Omegatrend and I'm staying in singapore. I guess the best way to know more about omegatrend is to ask me. There are many assumptions about omegatrend and rumours have spread based on these assumptions. Omegatrend, like any other businesses, is not a perfect one. The opportunity to start a own free lance business is given to all. There is no pre screening so even crooks and criminals can join. But Omegatrend have a strict set of rules to guide members on good business behaviours. These rules has ensured the business success. I have to admit, after our success, some leaders got proud and feel that they are too smart to be told what rules to keep to. So some leaders started building their own business building wheel. Nothing wrong with this but some new members had the wrong idea of Omegatrend as a get rich quick scheme by just joining and doing nothing. Of course this is totally untrue and members are not able to earn the money that they should be earning. So as time reveals the truth about earning money through hardwork and personal development, all the leaders who are still thinking about how to join a company that they can give the least and take the most left the company. As Omegatrend is always about giving and growing in charactor. The more you grow, the more you earn.
With the few leaders who feels that other company can give them more when they need to give less, they took a large group of members with them. This led to the financial crisis of Omegatrend. But the good thing is that we are still alive and the members who stayed on are those who truly live the Omegatrend culture. Omegatrend is a group of people, coming together, helping each other to grow and develop so that they are able to be trained with the skills to build their own business and be a person who is brave to go for his or her dreams despite obstacles and risk.
From Isaac.
