An independent men's fraternity founded on October 20, 1958, Omega Tau , Greek letters ΩΤ, is the oldest fraternity at Texas Lutheran University. Omega Tau has a great history of relationships with its alumni as well as the faculty at TLU. The Omegas pride themselves in brotherhood, scholarship, integrity, and social prestige. The colors of the fraternity are blue and white and its symbol is the lion. Omegas have continued to live by their motto: One Together.
Omega Tau has been in continuous existence since it was chartered by six men: Verne Lundquist, Luther Oelke, Juggy Gum, Jerry Ney, Jerry Borge, and Holle Phloen. The Omegas have been known for their parties across TLU since their foundation, most famously is the Omega Tau Luau that has existed in many different forms and names for decades as the first major party of the school year, as well as the annual rush party in the beginning of the Spring semester.
