Omealca

Omealca is a municipality of the state of Veracruz in Mexico. It is also the name of the city which serves as the municipality seat. The city has a population of about 29,300. More than 80% of the people are below the poverty line. There are no cable television or Internet services in this part of the state. Telephone lines are available only at two or three family-owned estates. The population of Omealca is mostly descended from African slaves and Amerindians.
