Of course. :)
It's just that Wikipedia isn't the place to "get the word out" on a new band. Of course, once you've made it big, it'll just be a matter of time before someone really does write an article on you. - Lucky 6.9 20:19, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
I understand. It's just that a band or artist has to have a tremendously big fan base, be signed to a major label, have a major release, a major hit, major tour, stuff like that. If you can establish the band's notability with verifiable press releases and similar info, that's OK. - Lucky 6.9 20:27, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you create an inappropriate page such as Automated Chinchilla Mangle, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. NawlinWiki 20:37, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your note. Unless and until you can establish that this band is already notable, please do not recreate the page. NawlinWiki 20:49, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Nope, MySpace is not going to do it. There are dozens of articles deleted every day about bands that have no sources other than MySpace. NawlinWiki 21:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- The problem is that you need third-party sources, not sources (like the three you cited) where basically anyone can create their own page. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. NawlinWiki 21:25, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry (and you certainly are a dedicated fan!) but anyone with enough money can hire a recording studio. That doesn't make you notable. Cheers, NawlinWiki 21:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ron's Garage.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ron's Garage.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 16:53, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Horsemen Of The Apocalypse.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Horsemen Of The Apocalypse.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Seraphimblade Talk to me 07:55, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Kenyan Leaders.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Kenyan Leaders.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:31, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for uploading this picture to Mwai Kibaki's page--this time with the correct caption:) As I understand, you have produced this photograph yourself. Is that correct? Is so, I am sure you can tell us more about its origin. Tomeasy (talk) 08:01, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
-
- On my talk page you say: I think you may have confused left and right which I stated.
- [1], as you can see, you stated Kibaki would be standing left! So it was not me confusing the sides, but your image caption. When you reverted me back, you even stated this mistake again in the summary [2].
- As to white, black, Asian. I admit, it was not wise from my side to introduce the term white man in the summary referring to an Indian (who is standing back left). In any case he is not African and therefore clearly not Kibaki and thus your caption was wrong. Since i was not 100% sure who would be Kibaki in this picture, I could not mend the caption and therefore removed the picture.
- I see that you have fixed the caption [3], well done. This way, I think it can stay. However, i also want to tell you that your claim I was confusing left and right, whereas you have made both edits, was very irritating for me. An apology appears appropriate.
