Omar Said Tjokroaminoto

Hadji Omar Said Tjokroaminoto (August 16, 1882–December 17, 1934) was an Indonesian politician and influential leader in the Indonesian nationalist movement. His efforts shaped the Sarekat Islam from its founding in 1911 into a significant force in his country.
Tjokroaminoto was born in Desa Bakur, Madiun, Java. He died in Yogyakarta having tutored the more radical Achmad Sukarno to take his place.
