Omar Merlo (born June 12, 1986 in Santa Fe) is an Argentine football defender currently playing for River Plate.
Merlo made his first team debut for Colón de Santa Fe in 2006, and quickly established himself as a regular member of the first team squad. He signed for River Plate in February 2008.
Merlo was part of the River Plate squad that won the Clausura 2008 tournamnet, but he did not actually play in any of the games.
